A lovely tranquil place to walk round away from the hustle and bustle of the town. Nice time to visit and see the start of the autumn colours as well as lots of squirrels. Although we did not visit the museum, we did go in the cafe and were greeted by a really nice lady who made me a lovely cup of coffee in a large China cup.

Not a good park if dogs ant allowed
I have Never been to a park where they have a NO dog policy.
Usually just the playground is a no dog area. Very disappointing.

Pannett Park is lovely for a walk & to view the Art Gallery and Museum, there is also a small cafe.
The park has lots of seating areas throughout so lots of places to stop should you wish to simply rest or maybe take a picnic.
There is a good sized children's play area at the top end of the park.
There is varied and interesting planting for all seasons, the highlight of course is the colourful clock as you approach the park, it's planted in the shape of a crown 👑 and it's a working clock too.
All in all a lovely place to visit.

Pannett Park manages to pack quite a lot into its 8 acres: a museum, an art gallery, a children's playground, plus gardens. Unfortunately, the museum and gallery were closed when we visited (check website for details), but the kids loved the playground and the hilly walks through the gardens are good, with views over the town and up to the Abbey.
Robert Elliott Pannett (7 February 1834 – 22 July 1920) did a great service to the people of Whitby in buying up the site before it was developed for housing and then bequeathing it to the town.

We visited here on a short break to Whitby. It is a charming park area, there’s a kiddies playground, delightful flower beds and mixed planting schemes, many different paths to explore and the views of Whitby are absolutely stunning. It’s a great place to sit down for a few minutes, enjoy the bird song, watch the squirrels, sit by the pond and just enjoy being alive.
The art gallery is free admission, the museum charges a modest entrance fee and it is worth every penny. The museum is a labour of love and quite beautiful, it reminded me of the museums of my childhood - polished oak cabinets, so many different items to see and enjoy. It’s a place I could visit many times and still find something new to see.
There is a brilliant cafe serving delicious snacks and cakes. We spent about 5 hours here and then had a slow walk into Whitby.
If you get the chance do visit, it’s amazing!

A somewhat disappointing park, as it appears to be the gardens for the Yorkshire Museum and not an actual park (like Peasholm Park in Scarborough). It’s not dog friendly, which is annoying, but understandable given the small size.

We wanted to spend a full day in Whitby with the family.
Parking central is difficult so we parked slightly out of town with a short walk to this park.
Great stop off with the kids to play and burn of some energy.
We walked through the park down to the church then up the hill to some lovely little shops.

Lovely park not far from the centre of town. Was a bit of a rainy day when we were there (hence no photos) but we followed a sculpture trail which was a good way of seeing the whole park whilst also seeing some interesting sculpture. Combine it with a visit to the museum for a good day out.

I am coming up to Whitby soon and hope to have a walk around Pannet Park and the museum. Do we need to be aware of cyclists when walking around the park?

Unfortunately we could not enter the park as we had dogs, despite the website saying dogs were allowed.

I would like to visit Pannett Park with a 96 year old disabled lady. It is vital to know if you have a car park and disabled facilities. Have you a cafe or refreshments room?

The Pannett park in Whitby does have a café in it since the café is in the museum itself. The Park does not have car park the nearest car park from the park is the leisure centre
