The beaches in Whitby are very tired dependent meaning that the beaches are cleaned by the sea twice a day. At lower tides the beach is a large sand expanse with rock pools along the way. There is something here for everybody to do including public facilities, cafésas well as the wonderful beach and clean sea. We spent several hours on the beach and in the sea body boarding and had a great time. The beaches around Whitby are certainly something to do in their own right.

Pretty beach with nice views. Historical landscape makes it special. No litter and not overly commercial. Nice for children.

This is a wonderful seaside town. Very traditional working harbour and beautiful views of the sea.
Nothing here is out of place. It’s kept its fisherman’s vibes from centuries gone by.
Loved it wonderful place. If you’re in Yorkshire then honestly this is a must place to go.

Views were great. Love this place. One of my favourite seaside spots. Weather not always guaranteed , but otherwise a peaceful and pleasant experience.

The beaches around Whitby are really beautiful. We had smashing weather in September too. Lucky us. First time in this town and definitely be back

my 5th time here in a year just love whitby and its beaches and people really lovely lovely friendly safe beach very lovely clean safe hoilday resort amazing clean beach lovely sea but it can be rough at times the pier is amazing and lighthouse as well definitely must to see.

First time I’ve been back since my childhood. Really enjoyed my weekend. Considering it’s August it wasn’t too busy at all. Plenary of open spaces and beach access. Restaurants and cafes in abundance and you’re never too far from an ice cream stand!

A lovely beach plenty of sand at low tide and bird life at high tide. I even got a rainbow this morning. Great place to come to play or to have a stroll. Toilets are also very close.

Spent a few hours here on our way back from Scotland. The Weather was lovely and was really busy here but that did not disappoint. Fish and Chips were yummy and the beach was busy but not over crowed.

Restrictions apply to various areas at certain parts of the year. Scarborough council increased the no dog area this year without any form of public or other consultation. Access at the beach hut end is by VERY dangerous steep narrow steps that are unfit for purpose. BE AWARE, the “no dog” area is very poorly signed on the beach and fines are very high.

Hi no not at all. The tide come all the way up. There is a outdoor pool that is lovely which is open most of the summer months.
