每次来约克小镇，都被这里的安逸所吸引。一下火车就看到了城墙，想起很久以前来的场景。我们住在当地人的家里，晚上在城墙边坐着发呆

城墙向外看，没有太多美景或旧有面貌。如果不知城墙是什么值得一去。如果曾到过中国万理长城就不用去，会失望。

到York那天并不热，下午四点左右开始沿着城墙走，视野不错，晚风徐来，相当惬意。有些地方稍微狭窄，拍照时请注意其他游客。

看到了就顺路逛逛，也就是普通城墙的样子。顺着漫步锻炼身体还是不错的。为什么要求50个字啊，一个破城墙有什么好说的

来到约克必须要登上这段历经千年风雨的古城墙。约克古城墙采用石块砌筑，墙体不算高，也不算厚，除了城堡处，墙上仅能容许俩人斜肩通过，无论从规模与功能上都不能与中国的城墙相比，但是却很好的保存下来了，这不能不算一个奇迹！

约克城墙其实挺长的，真的要走可以走很久，我稍微走了大概一刻钟
view其实一般，因为城墙不是很高，有一部分视野是被遮挡的，但是登高望远的感觉还是很好的
当天比较冷，风吹的呼呼的，建议去约克还是多穿一点，风真的很大

How long roughly would it take to get from Walmgate bar to Miclegate bar?

Depends:
* If you walk through town - approx 20 minutes.
* If you stayed on the walls and walked 'around the city' in a northerly route - I'd say 45/50 minutes.
* If you stayed on the walls and walked around the city in a southerly route, approx 20 minutes.

I understand that there are breaks in the walk where the wall no longer exists, is there sufficient signage to get you to the next part of the original wall walk?

I wouldn’t recommend it as some parts of the wall end in steps and aren’t very wide. Other parts have no railing and a steep drop to the exposed side too.

The walls open about 8am and close at dusk. About 3 miles all the way round. A great way to see York. If time limited do the Bootham Bar to Monk Bar section

I am afraid of heights as well. I did not find it problematic. at points the wall is open on one side (the inside) usually where there are sloping grades down from the wall...not a steep drop
