Great little market with a variety of stalls and food. Worth visiting whilst in York very close to the Shambles. Nice to support market traders and local businesses.

I had to write a review about one of the stalls me and my wife had the pleasure of visiting whilst visiting York and the amazing Shambles Market.
Red-Leb (Simon and Donna) make bespoke and very unique jewellery and for me, their collection was the first time in my life I’ve picked up jewellery and instantly wanted it, all of it! The craftsmanship, the detail, the the decoration, the design and the finish on all their pieces are remarkable and for us, out of this world and most definitely worth the money. Both me and my wife walked away with two pieces of jewellery we were really excited to wear and show off, I must add that this was post wedding which took place 6 days prior, meaning we both now have a connection of collaboratively chosen jewellery on both our hands and it feels very, very special.
Red-Leb is must visit and a must purchase when you’re in York, you will not be disappointed with their collection and you’ll walk away with something that no one else will have in your possession.

The Shambles Market in York is like stepping into another time! The cobbled streets and small shops are full of charm. I bought some handmade jewelry and tasted local foods, which were all delicious. It’s so easy to get lost in the narrow alleys and find hidden gems. There’s a real sense of community here, with friendly vendors who love to chat about their crafts. The market is smaller than I expected, but it has such a unique vibe that I didn’t mind at all. If you’re in York, you have to visit the Shambles.

We had a little stroll through the market. Sells your typical market items. However, when we got towards the end there was a little food court that you wouldn't know was there unless you walked through. Some great little food outlets selling street food. Really cool, wished we found this bit sooner.

Worth a quick walk around, I always feel that the only thing for sale is normally tat, but you never know you might need some.

It is a standard market. Nothing new - the flower stall was the stand out stall. Not a place I would revisit - apparently I have to write more.

Had the best chips here with alioli sauce. The chips had lemon pepper and the portion was decent. Really tasty chips. I think the business was called Millers.

The Shambles Market instantly became my favourite place in York to grab some lunch (some of the stalls close too early for dinner). You can get all of the traditional British foods - fish and chips, sausages, curry, pizza, kebabs (British cuisine has improved a lot since the days of Asterix in Britain) - plus a few surprises.
The Market is also a great place to shop for anything from pretty rocks to Frida Kahlo socks to Castle Grayskull crocs. An essential part of any visit to York.

We visited The Shambles Market on a busy Wednesday afternoon. Enjoyed wandering amongst the eclectic mix of stalls. Bought some delicious fruit & the wife bought some lovely quality clothing.
There is a bit of everything that should suit all tastes. A tip if you are going to eat at food stalls in the Shambles Kitchen area there are only small number of outdoor picnic or beer garden type tables. Range of food vans is quite diverse.
We didn’t eat here but food looked good & area was popular. There are numerous cafes in the Shambles
Really worth a visit for an hour or two. Pick up a bargain, grab some fresh fruit, flowers

Walking along the city centre, we went to the Shambles Markets. Busy on a Saturday morning, August, but we like that, we like to see the markets, full of people and tourists. They sell different kinds of food, artistic manifacts, healthy products.

The Wizard of York here, based on The Shambles! I’ve not seen a clothing stall in the market for a while, but there is often a stall sending belts and bags, a hat stall and one with all manner of colourful socks (me-thinks something is…a-foot!)

Does anyone know the name of the company who sells the hand painted wooden figures. I believe they are there on a Friday. My kids bought some and when we went back the next day to "buy the rest of our family" they were gone.
