I love visiting here, and we come a couple of times a year. There are 3 exhibitions which change regularly and there is usually something interesting, in at least one of the spaces.

We spent a wonderful afternoon at the gallery. The temporary shoes exhibition is beautifully displayed, with clear information that is relevant and informative. We spent a couple of hours going through the temporary exhibition and the separate shoe gallery. Both very fascinating. The staff were most helpful, courteous and devoted to their task. There is a limited menu at the cafe but the food is delicious. The catering staff were also courteous and attentive. We lost ourselves in the gallery to such an extent that the afternoon passed very quickly, and we didn’t have time to explore any other parts of the museum. We will certainly be going back to investigate the galleries we missed. It’s well worth a visit, and it’s FREE,

First time we've visited since the redevelopment of the museum. Very impressed. Interesting display of shoes 👞 as Northampton was once a major city of shoe manufacturers. Also very interesting, though temporary, feature on the Titanic. In addition there's a café and shop. Well worth a visit.

Been with friends several time s,plenty of history , crafts ,a good place for kids ,family ,coffee and restaurant available ,recommend to a ll visitors around week

You might see the town centre a bit of a ploughed field atm! But this is seriously a hidden delight!

So easily missed so easily excused to not visit so visit!
Real history real education real local interest.
Pass by at your lose I did for years (decades)
Costs nothing but a fortune in educational experience
Should be better advertised by the local authorities

As we were in the area on holiday we decided to visit the Vivienne Westwood exhibition after seeing it on the local news. The whole of the museum is in a series of old building which have been cleverly designed to provide a great visitor experience. We enjoyed the seeing the shoe collection which was quite extensive.

Went to see the Vivienne Westwood Collection today, an absolutely stunning display by one of my icons I could have stayed in there all day! A very lovely friendly man on the reception when we came in topped off our visit

A great museum with a range of permanent and changing exhibitions! I believe most exhibitions are free (if not all) and there really is something for everyone! The building itself if lovely and a good few hours can be spent walking around, viewing beautiful works, followed by a drink in the cafe!
The museum is not far away from the town bus stops or many local car parks in town! You can have a morning viewing the gallery before you hop round town for a spot of shopping!
I have recently been to the Vivienne Westwood exhibition which is informative and fabulous! Pieces from a collectors collection with information through the ages!
Prior to that, a few months ago, I viewed the Quinton Blake and BFG exhibition which was great fun, with beautiful drawings!
The permanent shoe gallery is always worth a visit and something new will catch your eye every time!

Why have such a great renovated building and have a cafe which is atrocious! So uninviting it isn't true. No imagination, no nice touches like flowers on tables, outdoor area drab, food on display pathetic. We would have eaten there after the exhibition, made half a day of it, but we got out and never went back for the rest. Go to Leamington Gallery to see how a cafe SHOULD look and what delicious food is on offer.

What a great space. Embarrassingly having lived near by for a long time we had never visited before. Was really impressed with the space, the temporary exhibition ’Vivienne Westwood’ and the permanent exhibition on the ground floor. All had a contemporary feel, will be keeping an eye out for future exhibitions and will definitely go again.

There is a short stay car park on the same road as the museum. There are some dotted along the road as well. However I think they have a maximum of two hours stay.
