Great food choices everywhere, larger was terrible Carlsburg 3.4% shocking!!!

I loved the idea of the festival (camping and listening to music for 3 days), but it is truly invaded by underage teens with zero respect for others.
I know you can’t control 120.000 people at the same time, and there’s nothing wrong with the organization or the staff (who had been always polite and available 24/7) but for sensitive people it is important for them to know that…if you want a proper experience that involves music as a primary immersive activity, BE AWARE that this might no be for you.
If you’re 16 to 24 this is for you no matter what you’re looking for.
A great bank holiday escape to feel free and start discovering yourself.

Reading 2024 I have gone to reading festival for the last 4 years but not sure I’ll go again ,i think there was to many people (oversold ) for the size of venue
Friday night the The Prodigy were playing which is the main reason I went this year as a 57 year-old Disabld person remember that the first time my mobility scooter near the back near some railings it got so busy people are starting to panic before it started and when it did all hell loose I’ll have to put my daughter over the railings to the security yard and after that I spent the whole time passing people over the railings and arguing with the security guards who were telling us nobody could come over in the end I use my scooter as a step up to get people over the barrier as they had nowhere to go it was dangerous
I think they should have put some straw bells around outside the areas for people to sit on
I stayed on the Disabled campsite which every year seems to get further and further away if I use the Eco camping, I’d be right by the arena
There’s a few things they need to look at as it’s not cheap

Previous recent years they’ve had two main stages. Giving enough time for big headliners to arrange their sets with no sound clashes.
Now the festival organisers had decided to cash in on more sponsor advertising by turn on of the main stages into a dance stage.
Wouldn’t have been problem if they hadn’t have scheduled both stages with acts at the same time. This has caused havoc.
An act like Lana Del Rey for instances, with subtle melodic anthems was completely, and awkwardly, drowned out at times by thumping club music.
Really poor planning by the festival organisers and such a shame. Won’t be going back while they have both stages on. Waste of money.

My friend faced unjust searches, bruises, and was removed from Reading Festival 2023. When we spoke out, we were wrongly accused of racism. It's been a year, and we're still fighting for an apology and accountability for this misconduct. #ReadingFestival

Absolutely awful experience. No control over moshes, litter everywhere, disgusting people allowed in with no respect. In particular I thought the silent disco was a complete waste of money, my headphones being stolen in the first five minutes of wearing them and then not being given another pair because there wasn’t any left, and not being able to get a refund. So many people almost die every year in those moshes and it was so not worth it, almost getting my leg broken in central cee after many people toppled on top of me. You guys need to get your act together and sort out a way to deal with this or I think you’ll find not as many people will be happy to come back, as I never will now.

A hard one to write a review for, the acts I wanted to see, Foals, Bicep, Frankie Stew and Harvey Gunn, Hedex and the Dance stage overall were brilliant and great memories were made. However the camping aspect of the festival was very poor. Stayed in white camp hoping to get some sleep after the acts, virtually impossible. I understand it’s a festival however people just randomly screaming throughout the night in the tent next to us is not conducive to a good night. Litter EVERYWHERE. Food and drink prices were extortionate. Better suited for under 18s as that seemed to be majority of the attendees.
Central Cee’s performance was embarrassing.

A lot of negative comments on here - but as a 71yr old I came away absolutely buzzing- went to see Sam Fender who was as usual brilliant - also special mention to Wet Leg. Last Dinner Party & Frank Turner all very very good. As for the gig - some need to remember that there was 80/90,000 people there - yes there were a lot of kids ( weren’t we young once ! ) I didn’t see any trouble ( like I would at a football match ) and I was there all day - of course prices are sky high - Wembley & O2 is worse ! I was at Hyde Park in 1969 to see the Stones and it was mad - all Big concerts like this can be raucous and a little wild - they always have been - but hey - thats Rock and Roll…

First off I went primarily to see Killers who I've seen loads in all types of venues. And I'm a seasoned festival/gig goer for them & various types of bands/dance stuff. As a mature mum I wasn't expecting to fit in with the expected kid crowd. I took my 15 Yr old son who's been to different venues too & this was his first full day larger festival which I wanted him to experience. So thought he'd be OK and he wanted to see other bands there. All in all, it was the Killers so nothing was stopping me going, but I was wary. I wasn't out of my depth I'm not a wall flower, and I'm not easily shocked. Neither do I expect 1 big love in everywhere I go. I was tho just gob smacked & so pissed off with the behaviour & attitude of the teens thinking they're so grown up, but acting like total little t***s. It was just a huge GCSE celebration party. My son warned me but I thought surely wouldn't be so bad. No harm letting loose. We all do it. At festivals we're all there to enjoy, look out for each other. Wrong! Too big a crowd for size/layout & dangerous lot of times. Groups/ individuals/anyone basically forcing their way into tight crowd where there was already no space/nowhere to go. Without any doubt they didn't have the right to just shove & trample. And really mouthy/aggressive if you stood up to them. One kid said to me, who was uniquely on the polite side but smirking told me "This is what it's like at festivals, everyone does it (they prob wanted to add 'love' on the end of that). Not to extent it was there tho & not if you don't want to piss off people who've waited hours by rocking up last minute & man handling them. It was relentless all day & all night for everything. The amount of times we moved just for it to happen all over again. I got really annoyed which I regret, should have laughed in their entitled faces. But you couldn't get away from it. I noticed they picked their victims - didn't risk it with big blokes (how brave). Horrible vibe most of time. Not welcome festival vibe at all
Open drugs everywhere. Right next to us, dishing them out numerous times. No security except fronts of stages. Exit sign after killers sent us through all camp sites, not to street. Filthy dirty. No soap in toilets from lunchtime. But toilets did flush & they weren't portable loo mini box things - tried to be grateful for these things. I saw prodigy in a small inside venue once, and never felt as threatened/frustrated as I did here. Killers were excellent as always. Will never go back to this festival tho even if they played it again & as long as I have a say, my son won't go again either - trouble did break out in 1 tent, surprised wasn't more. Such a shame. I've told him not to think Reading's example of festivals in general. It's not. It's bottom of barrel. Had wiff of that catastrophe in US, Woodstock 99. Be warned! If you can stand thousands of other people's little idiots (trying to be careful what I say on here, that isn't what I called them on the day) playing the big I am, stoned/drunk out their minds / even sober & still utter nobs, then go for it. You'll love it.

We went on the Saturday and had a great time. The line up was fantastic including the headliners. There were plenty of places to buy food and drink and the drinks were quite reasonably priced for a festival. The queuing system at the main bars helped make sure the queues moved quickly.
Negatives:
-A lack of signage from the day car park as this was our first visit
-We didn't expect the toilets to be great but they were terrible
-There was a lack of bins and rubbish was everywhere you walked
None of these things spoiled our visit or enjoyment of the great music on offer.

I’ve booked for the Green Car Park. How long is the shuttle boat from the Green Car Park to the Green Gate Entrance? I booked on Ticketmaster so should I receive a car pass to display?

I’ve bought a weekend ticket to go with my nine year old son, as he’s a big fan of quite a few of the bands. However I’m now doubting my decision… has anyone been with a child this age and is it suitable/can he be shielded by the not so suitable side of it? Is white camping area best for us? Any other advice for going with a child?
撰写日期:2022年7月27日
Can children under 13 come on the day or do they need a ticket in advance?
撰写日期:2019年8月24日
Info from Reading site states visitors with Day passes are not permitted to access the campsites nor even to leave to go to their car or the town.
They do have security there which includes checking wristbands. I am sure they would wish to discourage people from buying a day pass & attempting to stay over in campsites & re-entering the arena. ( Sorry not making assumptions here! 😄). I am sure there are legitimate reasons eg meeting friends.

I'm staying in the white camp and was wondering about what food stall there is for Thursday evening

For day pass tickets is it allowed to leave the site to go to supermarkets ?

Does anyone know the best place to drop off for the festival?
撰写日期:2019年8月20日
Hi does anyone know if bars and food places are contactless or cash inside the festival and what's the best places to organise car pick ups at the end of the evening? Thank you
撰写日期:2019年8月15日
I’m pretty sure most places take contactless. Download the reading festival app and it should be detailed in there.
