Had a very wet but fun, mindful alpaca trek. The alpacas are such adorable personalities. The trek was just the right length led by well-trained, friendly volunteers who were very safety conscious. The pre-trek talk was about the animals and the farm’s work was very interesting and the trek was great fun and relaxing. Would recommend as a gift for any animal lover.

Such an amazing experience! It rained for most of our treck then brightened up towards the end of it. It was still very enjoyable even being wet. Jefe and the alpacas on the other hand looked like they just wanted to be indoor but still did a really good job. We had the pleasure of walking with Jefe and he was such an absolute joy to interact with. The rain made it all the more fun bringing out our inner child. I would most definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to do something outdoorsy that's out of the norm 🥰🦙 the volunteers at the farm were also very friendly and welcoming! I see myself coming back next summer.

Holly Hagg Community Farm were very welcoming, instructive and knowledgable. Everyone - ourselves included - had a cracking time on the trekking experience. The views were gorgeous and the llama we had our walk with was an absolute gem. We were in very good hands (or feet in the case of our llama, Jefe) and we’d happily go again!

Highly recommended. We went as a Christmas gift. We walked Griffon and Gordon the alpacas. Both were impeccably behaved. The route is suitable for most people - a bit steep in places and good walking shoes are recommended. The volunteers were very friendly and knowledgeable. Animal welfare was top of their priorities and they answered any questions we had about the alpacas and El Jefe the Llama. The tour lasted for about 1 hour 45 mins including safety briefing. There was even an opportunity to see the pigs on the farm afterwards.

This was a great experience - thoroughly enjoyed by our whole group.
It's clear that the welfare of the animals is absolutely paramount - we were given really clear instructions on handling them and how to keep them safe and happy throughout the trek, with specific instructions for alpacas that needed to be handled differently (as some of them are really greedy and you have to know how to stop them thieving food when they aren't supposed to haha!). The volunteers are all really friendly, knowledgeable and love to share information about the alpacas. Can't wait to come back again :)

We had a wonderful time this afternoon with the alpacas, Thomas the alpaca was a lovely walking companion. Beautiful animals and stunning views. Thank you to the volunteers who were very friendly and made an enjoyable experience. Would highly recommend!

Bought an alpaca trekking experience for my mums birthday and it was honestly the most wholesome experience we’ve done. I choose to have an alpaca each when booking and neither of us could stop grinning from meeting the boys, to telling them off when they were being cheeky. Teddy didn’t want to say goodbye at the end. The whole experience was fantastic. The guide was very knowledgeable and how well they knew each alpaca’s quicks and was able to convey that to the guests was fantastic. Jefe led from the front and was a joy to watch. Would thoroughly recommend. In our group there were couples and family’s with children but everyone was grinning and having a lovely time.

absolutely fantastic day on the alpaca trek. An amazing experience made all the better by the lovely staff. The animals are so well cared for and the whole experience from start to finish was absolutely wonderful. highly recommend

This is such a fun experience! The Alpacas are lovely animals, we luckily had sunshine so it made our trek perfect. I don’t think any of us stopped smiling for the full time! The staff are lovely, explain everything you need to know and clearly love the alpacas.

I love this place! We went for a trek and had Jefe the llama. The ladies were kind, helpful and knowledgeable. The animals are full of character and the scenery is stunning. This is a great way to spend a few hours. I also love the fact that it supports a community farm.

Hi, sorry I've just spotted your question. It is very rare for young children to be afraid of the alpacas but if you aren't sure then why not try our Family Open Hour on Sunday June 9th from 2.30pm to 4pm when we offer alpaca meet and feed, pond dipping and meet the chickens. Just turn up at the gate £1.60 for adults, 80p for children.
On the treks we choose the calmest alpacas for the younger children and they have a double lead so an adult can take over instantly. Alpacas are rarely spooked and if it dows happen they soon settle down and an adult is able to control them.

Parking is available on the side road to Holly Hagg. No parking charge but be mindful not to double park as the road is narrow.

Hi Sarah, There are a number of them around in Sheffield but not within walking distance to the Farm. Hotels nearby such as Rutland Hotel, Fulwood Lodge hotel could be expensive but do have a look at Premier Inn Angel Street, Travelodge city centre (They have family rooms as well) these do sometimes good deals. It's more lively in the city centre and they do have fairs and all during school holidays other than that there's Sleep hotel Sheffield. Regarding the farm, if you doing a trek you'll need to book in advance as they sell out. Book on their website.
