The Mysterious Case Of Hugh Dunnitt is a really fun and inventive escape room with enjoyable twists and turns. Not the hardest I’ve done, but challenging enough to make it extremely satisfying to crack the case. Jack was an excellent and enthusiastic gamesmaster. I wish I lived in Sheffield so I could do the other rooms.

We went as a family of 5, the kids ages were 9, 15 and 18. We all thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend. We was unsure if it was suitable for the youngest, however I can confirm he loved it!

Brilliant rooms! And an amazing and enthusiastic host! All the puzzles were satisfying, clever and all different. All three rooms here had loads of thoughtful original puzzles which were challenging and satisfying to solve. The variety in the puzzles meant there is something for everyone! Really excited to come back and try their new rooms when they are done!

We had the pleasure of playing 2 of the games at Cryptology Sheffield, hosts were great, rooms were good fun and all of our team had a great time! Can thoroughly recommend!!!

We took part in the Hugh Dunnit Murder Mystery room as the friendly staff had previously advised us over the phone that this was the easiest room. We picked this as we thought it would allow our aging mother to also take part.
The room itself was good. The puzzles were challenging but not to difficult. The story was also good throughout the room. Even our elderly mother managed to solve one or maybe 2 puzzles, although she spent most of the time claiming credit for other peoples solutions and wearing a dear stalker hat she found the wrong way round.
Whilst the room was good, what absolutely made the trip was our fantastic host. I think he said his name was John or Jonathan.
When first greeting us, he was enthusiastic and friendly and showed us to the waiting area when he promptly disappeared. A few moments later, he returned as the amazing character Hugh Dunnit. With some hilarious one liners (all of which went straight over our advanced in years mothers head) he explained the rules, and the story and let us lose in the room.
Once done he congratulated us, made sure we’d enjoyed ourself and showed us out.
I’m struggling with his actual name, definitely something like John, because his Hugh Dunnit character was brilliant and absolutely made the visit!
We’ll be back to cryptology mainly to witness some of his other characters and for his fantastic hosting from start to finish.
On another note, the tie Hugh Dunnit wears is worth the visit alone!

Went as a group of friends doing First Contact as a 3 and then Afterlife as a 5. Both rooms were good fun and had satisfying puzzles. First Contact was my favourite out of the two, but we did beat the record on Afterlife!
Our game masters Johnathan and Miriam were excellent and we enjoyed the extra effort they put in to fit the theming of each room.

Had an amazing time at Cryptology in Sheffield this morning in the Hugh Dunnit murder mystery! Really fabulous escape room, great fun and the staff were amazing too! Highly recommend!

Very fun escape room! We did the afterlife escape room which had loads in it given the size of the rooms with some really creative solutions to the puzzles as well. Shoutout to Miriam for being a great host and for the fun drawing on the game details card which was in reference to what we'd joked about when we were playing. The prompts were helpful and didnt give too much away as well.
Overall very fun experience and will defo come back to play their other rooms!
