Great place but service at lottes coffee house on site is appalling
52 minute wait for a coffee and tea cake
Won’t be using the cafe again, we use it during cycle rides or after dog walks , few friends have also complained about the service and started using the cafe at thornberry animal sanctuary , where profits go to animal care and rescue

Fantastic value for money, plenty to keep kids entertained, brilliant tropical house and lots of other reptiles, insects and fish. Decent gift shop and fantastic activity room for kids to play games, tables for colouring with crayons and paper provided, brilliant day out.

Amazing place! Partner booked the meerkat experience for my birthday and it was incredible - keeper was lovely and even had seats for us to sit on so didn’t get too dirty in enclosure - meerkats were brilliant, very friendly and happy to be stroked while eating - great price too compared to other zoos. Highly recommend a trip! Especially in Dec as they’ve got treasure trails with stamps!

This is a place that better suits the summer....
That's the only negative I can say, thoroughly enjoyed our trip here today went with my son and 2 year old granddaughter, not loads of animals about but it was a cold day, the butterfly house tho!! That was just amazing, to see them flying about was just great, my granddaughter was a little scared but loved it all the same, as will definitely be going back in the summer time, the play area was great and the activities they have for young children is good, they have the dino dig in there too which the kids love, the area is great to walk about, plenty hey james! of open spaces cafes were shut today and the bird house, but think in the summer all should be open,

We went when hocus pocus witches where there we thoroughly enjoyed our day from the wizard to the animal and bird magic tricks lots of photo opportunities with the attractions it was a fun packed day and food and drink was reasonable 😀

Great place for kids. We didn't get to see everything as there is quite a bit to experience. Animals, shows, play area, cafe etc.
My only concern was that some of the birds could have had larger enclosures.

I went with my son and granddaughters (GDs) on the 25/8/2024 and we had a lovely day on the whole.
Getting there from Sheffield is tricky. The bus goes by the end of a moderately long walk down the level lane to the Park.
The entrance fee is expensive, maybe there was discount online. I would have been tempted by a yearly pass but at over £250 it was beyond me especially because of the access. (NB the days cost can be deducted from this amount)
I had been before quite a few times when my oldest GD (12) was little. We were impressed with the new design of the park and the cleanliness of it.
The signage and map can be tricky to follow (bearing in mind we had been some years before and taking into account the rework of the site).
Recommended:
Lemurs:
Really well displayed in a marvellous enclosure with keepers who know their stuff. Limited access inside the enclosure so may have to wait at busy times but well worth it. My GDs were enchanted.
Butterfly house:
Absolutely fabulous, such a lovely atmosphere. GDs Fascinated by the swirling multicoloured cloud. They do land on you and it's totally random but washing your hands before you go in and leaving them a little damp may help.
The iguanas may hold you up at the bridge but there is an alternate route. This enclosure was top notch, much better than we remembered it. Allow at least a half hour and remember it may be v warm.
Bird House: (well, bird and small animals) :
Again very worthwhile and pleasurable. We loved the armadillos and little parrots.
Otter enclosure:
A couple of well looked after asian otters. Again they were well cared for, the tap at the side of the enclosure needs a better turning method for the keepers. We went to see them again at the end of our and they were very vocal.
Dino experience:
My 7 year old GD loved this walk and enjoyed the button pressing here and throughout the park.
Dining experience:
Actually good value and range e.g. beef curry and rice, children’s lunch box. Coffee could have been a bit cheaper but it was good coffee.
Lots of seating inside and out arranged with care. The small huts and seating near the playing field, with hammocks, swings and games, around the corner from the cafe are sought after.
Just a few of the things on display which made our day.
On the slightly negative side.
There is no leaflet given regarding “What’s On’. Nothing on the website gives a daily rundown of activities to download. When I questioned this, I was sternly informed that, because of changes the timetable was only on randomly places small sandwich boards. I consider this a major flaw.
The same info that is on the sandwich boards could be made available to download on the website for availability, with minimal overhead in labour.

We spent around 4 hours on site and loved every second. It’s divided up into serveral areas. The butterfly house was the best bit with lots of butterflies and the suprise of a colony of leaf cutter ants. The bird house was a nice place too, both felt like being in a jungle. A little hot and humid but really wild! Outside there’s a lot of different animals and birds as well as a play area, coffee shop and this area is great for kids and adults alike. We adults played table tennis while the kids went climbing.

Had the most beautiful escape with my toddler to this splendid little place full of surprises and fun for all ages.
Not so far out of Sheffield and thankfully not so busy and the sun was shining. The cafe is beautiful and has an array of food but best to get a packed lunch and enjoy the treats: sweets, ice cream, snacks, stationary and ofcourse gift shop!
We went round and enjoyed everything. The butterflies were spectacular but we were quite so blown away from everything tbh. I was in awe of how clean and fun it was whilst I meandered through the variety of animals and the amount of fun that was dotted around the park for my 3 year old - especially the water sprinklers which she found hilarious.
Another fav was the woodlands.
Would highly recommend for a chilled day to connect with Mother Nature!

Hi I scanned the QR code to add what might make it better. My reply was pillow as apose to bounce lol, I was on child watch. To be honest I've been coming years and it's progressing nicely tractors rides and new butterfly house. You guys make such an effort through winter too with halloween and father christmas. As my sons getting older he wants to climb more so a new climbing bit or bounce pillows or even tunnels. I will upload some photos, my lads suggestion would be to add another trike as I can't seem to get him off the fastest one lol all the best guys.

Probably 3 to 4 hours if you watch the parrot displays and animal feeding sessions their is a nice cafe and ride on toys for smaller children the butterfly encloser is warm to sit in on a colder day there are seats to sit on if you take your own picnics

you can spend a full day there, a minimum of 2 hrs is required, I'd probably say 3 to 5 hrs is recommended as there are lots of keeper talks spread throughout the day and this also allows time to eat whether you choose to eat in or take a picnic

I would say that it's the X5 Dinnington bus that passes not more than a mile away. There's 2 an hour through the day.
