Plenty to explore and find. Has everything, a tower, crags, bridges, caves, crevices, winding paths, steps (and there's a fair few of these up and down!). Allow 3-4 hours minimum. It helps to be fit but even if you're not (like me) it's manageable. Not for buggies or wheelchairs though. Definitely a workout. Kids loved it especially the cleft and caves which were magical. Make sure you take a drink with you - you'll need it!

We had a brilliant time at Hawkstone Park Follies, spending 5 hours exploring every inch of the area. We were fortunate to visit on a Friday on an extremely quiet day and felt as though we had the whole park to ourselves. The views were fantastic and the cave system / walks extremely well laid out.
The staff / customer service was excellent and the guys gave us loads of information about the history and exciting discoveries.
We would certainly return if we were ever in the location again. 10/10

The greatest place nobody has ever heard of! The most interesting walk I’ve been on in ages. No boring bits. The caves are amazing and the kids loved it, great exercise for them too! Make sure you climb to the top of the monument, you feel like you’re on top of the world from the top!

visited Hawkstone Follies with two kids, ages 4 and 5, and took part in the Easter trail.
Hawkstone Follies in general is a beautiful place, and you can spend a good amount of time exploring caves, hiking cliffs, learning about different trees and plants, trekking through magical forests, and going up a tower! You are given a map when you arrive that sets out trails for you to do. We followed the enhancted trail, which had Easter eggs to be discovered. The kids enjoyed spotting the eggs along the way.
You are able to take your own picnic, and there is plenty of space for this. However, I would say it definitely isn't suited for prams, and little legs may get tired. Overall, a stunning experience!

Incredibly breathtaking experience. Nobody could have led us through this magnificent place as well as Howard who was so full of enthusiasm it was infectious. From stunning surroundings to caves, cliff edges, magical forests, unbelievable follies to views to dream of. The commentary from Howard just lent an air of authenticity which contrasted beautifully with the ethereal surroundings. The land rover drive was just spectacular allowing us to see more of the park. I can't do this place justice with words...you have to see it. If you are in the area it is a must see. We could never forget this. Thank you Howard....thank you to the owners for allowing us to share this magical.place for a while.

We as a large group with young children we were a little unsure of what to expect.
We had a great day, walking, climbing, entering caves and follies. We arrived at 10.30 am and didn’t leave until 4pm. I think you need to be good at making your own adventures but a great place to visit for something a little different.

We’ve been coming for the past few years with our children and this is the first year where we have been very disappointed. The jeep run up to the caves was rushed and no where near as fun as last year. We were met by elves which again were not very interactive. We then got through the caves in about 15 or 20 mins max and the Santa interaction was very poor compared to the year before. The price was increased this year but the experience standard has sadly decreased massively. We won’t be coming again

Absolutely magical.. santa was amazing , showing the children his wallet, with all his credit cards ..and all his different currency incase he needed to stop for a snacks in different counties...I think he was the real santa!! our elf guide snowflake really got into character and added to the magic (thankyou)..The gifts were good quality , Santa even gave our 16yr old a lovely well thought gift lol ..hot chocolate was a nice .. lovely evening.. recommend the visit thank you

What an amazing place to explore! Don’t do what I did and underestimate how many steps there are, especially when you are carrying a toddler. Didn’t quite make it all the way round, but it does mean we’ll just have to go back! Lots for the little one (18 month) to explore… trolls, dragons and for hallowe’en ghosts and witches! I only mark it down 1 because there were some handrails that were in need of repair or replacing that made me feel a little unsure.

Hi, thinking of visiting with our dog. Does the park get very busy or do you tend to not really bump into anyone else? We enjoy the type of walks where it feels like you are the only people around!

I think you'll feel fine. It's a large place and lots of paths. You will see others in the popular areas like the caves, the bridges and the Tower. Equally there were paths alongside the valley where we saw no-one else. It is paths mainly, rather than just wandering anywhere.

You have to pay, and at the time we visited advance booking was necessary because of the pandemic.

When is the best time to see the rhododendrons?
They are currently in full bloom and will be for the next couple of weeks. Usually it is around now (end of May) but every year varies depending on the weather.

Hi although we welcome all ages, the terrain is not suitable for prams or pushchairs so youngsters would either need to be walking or carried :-)

15 minutes before scheduled departure, however it can take 5 mins to walk up to the Follies reception centre from the car park so if you work on arriving on site 20 mins before departure, you won’t go far wrong.
