A fantastic place to explore, we did the strenuous path and it took us about 2 hours 40 minutes. Plenty of seating to rest along the way. Well worth a visit. We took food with us, there is a cafe with basic food and hot drinks. Lovely views from the tower, caves were great fun. Highly recommend it.

What an amazing place, you need a lot of stamina to walk around, as it's mostly up hill, you can climb the stairs of the white tower, there are also some easy routes to take on the walk.

Why anyone gives this place fewer than 5 stars defeats me. Some people just love to be disappointed. It's a fantastic place, so many interesting and quirky places to explore. Yes, probably not as much fun on a wet day but if the sun's shining it's brilliant.
We spent 5 hours there - party of 3 adults, a 6 and a 3 year old. Everyone loved it and the reception staff were first class.

A great place to explore and get some exercise. Wonderful trails and views, caves, bridges and tunnels. Magical for young children. You do need to be fairly fit to tackle the main trail but there are shorter trail options offered on the map. Torches are recommended to explore the caves.

Amazing place, such a great place to explore, had a 5 and 6 year old with us and they loved it, they thought exploring the caves was great fun. Highly recommend visiting. Will definitely be visiting again.

Beautiful hidden gem! Stunning views and scenery! A lovely place to spend a few hours and soak up the atmosphere in the grotto, caves and over the scary bridge!

I've wanted to visit this place for ages and it didn't dissapoint. I was glad I read the TripAdvisor reviews about taking a torch and a drink with us.
The park is huge and there is so much to see. Expect to be walking for about 3 hours if you do the whole route. We loved climbing the monument and exploring the forest and caves. We were very tired at the end.
There's also a little teashop where I enjoyed the vegan brownies very much! The lady who ran the cafe and reception was lovely and very helpful.

Fantastic day out for the whole family, my teens became children, running round excited, they even loved hunting for trolls. The walk is hard, lots of steps, uneven steps, uphills, tree stumps, narrow paths, narrow bridge, and the caves, oh but so much fun exploring. You need good walking shoes and torch for caves. A head for heights if you want to walk to the top of the monument (I didn't do it, but apparently excellent views from the top). There's fantastic views from other places too, just outside the caves.
There are lots of benches so you can stop and rest, and have a picnic. There's toilets at the entrance and by the caves. The place is well kept, and good value for money. Staff helpful and friendly.
Would recommend and would visit again.

Not suitable for small kids or disabled due to steep awkward steps and slopes. Pannini selection at cafe all had cheese. Limited selection and staff unwilling to remove cheese.

My wife and I decided to leave the kids behind and spend the day together at the Follies and we had an amazing time. Parking is free and the entry fee is reasonable for what is a great experience all around. We particularly enjoyed the Swiss bridge and the Caves (Remember your torch!)

Hi, thinking of visiting with our dog. Does the park get very busy or do you tend to not really bump into anyone else? We enjoy the type of walks where it feels like you are the only people around!

When we visited there weren’t a lot of people around so a week day might be a good time to visit. The follies are a bit up and down and dogs must be kept on leads so I wouldn’t go there if a good long / open dog walk is what you’re looking for

They are currently in full bloom and will be for the next couple of weeks. Usually it is around now (end of May) but every year varies depending on the weather.

Hi although we welcome all ages, the terrain is not suitable for prams or pushchairs so youngsters would either need to be walking or carried :-)

Dogs are welcome in all areas including the Tearoom as long as they are kept on lead whilst on site :-)

15 minutes before scheduled departure, however it can take 5 mins to walk up to the Follies reception centre from the car park so if you work on arriving on site 20 mins before departure, you won’t go far wrong.
