Great working waterwill that demonstrates grinding flour mid week. When visiting at weekends excellent talks and information provided by the guides. You can view two floors and also go outside to see the unusual tandem overshot water wheels. Set in lovely gardens with a bubbling stream it is a pleasant walk back to the National Trust carpark or the castle entrance

The watermill is located within the castle grounds, close to one of its entrances. It operates with a double waterwheel: seems very unusual. The mill still grinds flour, which can be purchased on site. The mill houses lots of old small agricultural machines, and similar

Visited on Monday 03rd October 2022 Initially the Dunster Castle and Gardens, Medieval Watermill & Tea room as well as Dunster Village walks. The watermill entrance cost of this watermill is covered by any combined ticket to the castle. As National Trust members we didn't have to pay. Not sure if you can pay for entry to the watermill on its own but unless you have a deep interest in the watermill or have the said combined ticket there isn't much to see. Seeing the grinding stones turning is fun and if you want you can buy grain, ground at the mill.

This watermill is still in working order and producing milled flour. What better way is there to educate people on how things used to be and the quality of what would have been produced?

I love this place as it is fantastic place to learn about history. The place is fully working and you can even buy your own bread flour that has been milled.
The garden, which joins the mill and the castle was also lovely. There many examples of ferns and well established trees. There is also a children’s play area.
There is also a tea shop on site that serves the standard NT menu.

Family had excellent weekend. Very good information from parking entrance to the castle with a-lot of details. Castle was very well kept and maintained and also has amazing gardens. Very good time for whole family. The only one minus is slightly confused guide in the map so some area are difficult ti find however overall very good place and is definitely must be visiting.

Lovely old watermill with knowledgeable and friendly miller willing to tell the children all about grinding corn into flour, and answer their questions. Good quality flour too - we've made some excellent bread rolls with it.

Fun to see a double water wheel working and learn all about how they mill the flour which you can purchase on your way out.
The Miller and staff were informative and helpful. A great time was had by all.

The Watermill can be found by walking through the National Trust Dunster Castle grounds and through some lovely gardens. There is a nice stream with a photogenic bridge with some pleasant seating areas. A tea room/cafe is available just outside the mill gates which is very good and reasonable prices. Interesting to see the mill working and volunteers are helpful and chatty.

This was so lovely to see. A old water mill that is still working. So interesting to hear about the mill and how it works. So cool that you could buy the flour made in the mill. Definitely worth the walk down from the castle.
