We enjoyed a lovely walk round the lake and we enjoyed a spot of lunch too. Picked a nice day to visit, a sunny day in September.

A pleasant place but it is spoilt only by the over zealous parking police who have no qualms about slapping you with a £50 fine - I genuinely forgot to buy a parking ticket! And was away for less than an hour doing hospital rehab exercise. I'm a long time - always paid - regular who won't be back! (and no appeals don't work.)

Attended here yesterday with Friends and a 2 year old who loved the play area. We fed the ducks and went for a drink in the Cafe. Lovely views when you sit outside. Only downside is the prices of food & drink. £2 for a can of pop is bit pricey. Been going to Westport since I was young but first time in the Cafe.

The car park machines are hidden, and there needs to be better signage to direct people.
But on the whole it's lovely to walk around the lake and to see the wildlife. We take our dog regularly and she get so excited. You do have to watch our for the people that hire the bikes as they don't think about safety, they have some wide two seater bikes which take up most to the width of the path and when they are going at speed it is dangerous, especially if your dog is on a lead that is not right by your side.

We have just arrived home from a walk (paddle through mud) around the lake.
The maintenance of the footpath is terrible! My little dog had a new jumper on and it was sodden with dirt. Absolutely filthy dirty she was. So were we.
In the summertime its a lovely place but you need to clean them paths up during winter

Fantastic place, lots of wildlife and great tracks for you mobility scooter. You can even have a bite to eat and a cuppa.

We stopped here for a walk after being in the town, I love the birds, they are wonderful and I like that.
My poor review comes about the general maintenance of the paths...the path are littered by gallons of bird poo, the grass by the canal is full of bird poo. So really this is impassable.
For my liking the lake is too small for half a day out..i'm used to large lakes and hiking.
The place could be improved if it was cleaned up, i don't want to say its terrible but who ever's in charge need to sort it out. I had to sanitize my shoes and use anti bac spray.

Been there for a walk and it is a lovely place . Nice to have a look to the wildlife. There is a little play area and is very good for kids

I’m comming from Manchester to stoke on Trent and just wanted to ask if there’s any transport links to this place? Such as a bus ?

Yes there is. Hanley bus station you can catch a bus which takes 10 min max or you can get off the train at middleport or longport and it’s a 5 min walk.
What time can you get on the car park to fish in the morning

Why does the wildlife trust implore visitors to recycle and repair but package everything ( even bags of bird food) in plastic ? Doesn't practice what they preach. Same in cafe. Loads of unnecessary waste packaging like salt pepper packs.

It is about 1 mile to walk around both lakes. You could extend it if you walk on the paths that go to the back and by the ponds and stream. These paths have been newly renewed with gravel and are not as muddy as previously.
