What a fabulous family trip we had on the Christmas special - I can’t praise the organisation enough. Considerate booking, well organised parking, superb value for money, smooth transition to the trains, brilliant on board entertainment, very high quality gifts for the children 16-2 yrs of age, very tasty snacks and drinks in the carriage, lovely train trip (first for some), photo opportunities to record happy memories and the staff - YOU WERE ALL OUTSTANDING - professional, fun, natural and lovely people. We will most certainly be booking again for 2025.

We had such a lovely experience today for Christmas. We took both my boys and one of them suffers from bad anxiety resulting in him not going on the train ride. Both boys got to go in the train driver unit to look around and then myself and eldest stayed behind while my other son went on the train. Staff were amazing, made us feel comfortable and didn't have us missing out. they even arranged for a Santa visit once the train came back. Was a lovely experience.

Went the the North Pole Express - absolutely amazing from start to finish. Our two young boys loved the singing and dancing and meeting of Santa was great!
It felt really personal and not rushed.
We even stayed after for some food and a little mulled wine! Highly recommend this little gem of a place.

Went here for the North Pole Express. We had a great time. The staff were all really friendly. A great experience for us and the kids. A small bag of treats on the train including port and mince pies for us and juice and cookies for the kids made the journey even better. The kids loved their gifts from Santa too; a well thought out gift for our kids ages. The elves on board made it fun, having a sing-along and even a bit of magic, which was great. All in all a really great experience and highly recommend it. We also had a drink in the bar after, mulled wine and a great selection of beers finished off with some tasty hot meat baps and pigs in blankets.

What an amazing experience we had on Sunday at Foxfields. From arrival to departure the whole trip was outstanding. Super friendly staff, especially the Christmas team who made our dreams come true. Small people loved it as did the grown ups. The bag of goodies went down well. Highly recommended

My daughters bought me a steam train driving experience day at Foxfield as part of my 80th birthday celebrations and what a great day it was. For the driver experience the railway is closed to the public so it is easier to enjoy the day with family and friends. There were four of us on the day it was my turn and we each had plenty of time to learn the skills of both fireman and driver over the 2 ¼ mile track. As the trains are only allowed a max speed of 5 mph over much of the line, each of these activities took about an hour each. Much more time than seems to be offered on other heritage railways. It was great fun and not only do you drive the train the length of the track and back but also when uncoupled from the carriage to shunt it as well as taking it to fill up with coal and water.
A very big thank you to the volunteers for giving me and my family such a wonderful day.

Had a lovely afternoon at foxfield railway, as a former re enacter and photographer at foxfield for events, I went back after 4 years today with my sons. Thankfully a little steam train was there, staff were friendly. The coffee wasn't good and a small piece of cake, the place does need more money putting into it, benches broken, and everywhere needs a good lick of paint. The gift shop needs a re vamp, selling second hand clothes and glassware from the 70s. It's a short line, but have wonderful memories there. Events days are good as there is more going on.

What a great day out to celebrate Father’s Day with all the family with a cream tea aboard a steam train. Food was amazing, staff were excellent and very polite, service was first class. Would definitely recommend to pay foxfield a visit🙂

We attended the 1940s event and pre booked tickets to ride on the train. On arrival the car park was a grass meadow which had not been mowed. We had to walk through knee high grass to get off the car park, not easy for anyone with mobility problems. We then queued for ten minutes to be told we needed to visit the shop to collect a wristband to travel, it took over 15 minutes to get into the shop. Why could the passenger list/wristband not be issued at the entry point?
The train was 20 minutes late which caused the passengers to miss the 1940 events being held at the station, singers etc.
When the train arrived at the platform, passengers got into the carriages, but were then asked to get off again, whilst the train was “turned around”, the train then disappeared for 20 minutes.
The catering facilities closed for 30 minutes at 11:30 to”change from breakfast to lunch”, when they did open we waited a further 35 minutes for a sandwich.
When I spoke to the volunteer staff, they expressed surprise at the number of visitors who attended the event.
We felt that the organisation was overwhelmed and became uneasy the the event was unsafe.

In nice weather, this is a lovely place to visit. If you're not in a rush, you can spend a few hours on site on a normal, non event day.
A dog friendly site, that unlike another competitor, doesn't charge for dogs.
Workers on site were very friendly and welcoming to us on the day.
The steam train ride was short and straight, meaning from the carriages you sadly don't get to see the engine in its full glory when moving.
The change over is good as you jump off to watch.
As the track is short, it would be nice to have something at the other end to be able to get off, stay for a while and get back on a later train.
The seats on the train were very comfortable!
The breakfast we had was good value.
The little on site charity shop was good too.

its only a short distance and the round trip is around 40 minutes. Not mega exciting but good value for money.
