Absolutely amazing beach really enjoyed our visit definitely return this was our first visit won't be the last and the shell statue is amazing

We visited, just on a day trip, to find a lovely, very long, clean and tidy (no litter) pebbled beach, which we had pretty much to ourselves.
Parking is restricted in the town but available (quite reasonably priced) in a parking area about 15 minutes walk from the town.
Aldeburgh itself is quaint with a nice and varied selection of shops and eateries.
We were fortunate to enjoy the local Morris Dancers doing their stuff too on our visit.
So if you enjoy a day at the coast without all the tourist hustle (and sand!) of neighbouring Southwold, we’d recommend a day here. We even enjoyed a quick, refreshing dip in the sea!

Loved this seaside town, we had a gorgeous week with the weather and managed to get a couple of hours on the beach. Beach is very clean, not too busy & plenty of parking. We walked around the town, plenty of small shops and places to eat. Would definitely return.

Was so looking forward to visiting but to be frank you coukd have been in a number of quaint seaside towns in Kent for example with better beaches. Bins were overfilled and not emptied, lots of holiday makers, posers and generally unpleasant people ruined our experience. Wouldn’t return unless out of season. Not much to hold our interest.

Beautiful clean beach, lovely relaxing area, kids loved the boating lake and lots to do to while the day away relaxing. Wonderful walks too.

A lovely view from the beach, this is a still a fishing port and you can buy fresh fish from the local stalls. The only problem is parking - all the car parks are on the Ring Go app but the signal is so bad you cannot use an app !! Parking in the pretty high street is free but limited to 2 hours.
Also note that there are very few places to eat after 2.00pm which was a problem. There were a lot or people walking around looking for somewhere to get something to eat but every restaurant and take away was closed !

A lovely, long stretch of clean shingle - much nicer than sand in my view!
No dogs between May and September so properly clean.
Shelves steeply in places and can be windy.

As many other have said Aldburgh beach is not one for the sun worshipers or the sand castle enthusiasts, but more for those who appreciate a walk along Britains wild coast and are prepared to brave the pebbles and what Mother Nature wishes to offer, which on our latest visit was very high winds, making hat wearing almost impossible.
It’s a pebble or shingle beach if you like, and walking on it is not the easiest in places, but it’s one of those where I think it is worth it.
We usually park in the northern Thorpe Road car park as we usually find room here and the meter still takes cash as well as the ubiquitous pay by phone app.it is also adjacent to the photogenic Scallop art work and a walk into town from here will take you past the sea food huts to the fisherman’s boats and equipment at the far end.
Good and embracing at any time of the day, but best early morning or late evenings on a clear day when the light and hues generated will add to your experience.

Enjoy place to visit , walk along the beach , relaxing , great character in the buildings, plus you can take advantage of local caught fresh fish , which I am sure local shops tea rooms etc use.
