I left my mobile in a Green Kink pub, after walking out one of the bar staff ran after me with it, up a hill and round a corner in the rain. Service above and beyond the call of duty! Thank you very much.
I also like the way Green King staff are always checking with you that you are happy with everything, they seem to genuinely care.

A really worthwhile & informative tour - Cathy, our guide, was excellent!

I have taken 2 sets of guests on this tour and would highly recommend. Chris led both tours and is a great asset to Greene king. Perfect amount of history, knowledge and tasting.

Heard about the brewery tour from friends. Met the guide - Chris - a fountain of knowledge about the history of the brewery and notable people who worked there. Marvellous to be shown round the production process but have to admit my favourite experience was the tastings at the end of the tour. Abbott ale still the best ale.

All around FANTASTIC!!. The history, the information, the ethics of the company toward their workers was sooo impressive. Our tour guide Christopher was such a a great tour guide. The beer tasting was excellent and the food was delicious!! Everyone was really friendly and helpful. I highly recommend you visit this brewery, take a tour and eat there.

A must do, for beer drinkers! The Greene King brewery tour in Bury St Edmunds is still very much a working brewery (unlike some brewery tours, eg The Guinness Store)! The brewery was built in the 1930's in art-deco style. There are a lot of steep stairs to negotiate to get to the roof, bear in mind, if your mobility isn't great. Fabulous views of the surrounding areas from up there though, if you are mobile enough. Hear the story how Mr Greene and Mr King united to form the famous Greene-King brewery company. Hear the story about 'old speckled hen' and how it got it's name. Taste different ales and beers after the tour upstairs in their bar/cafe. As I said at the beginning, this is a must tour for beer-lovers alike. The town is worth visiting too, in its own right. My partner, and her friend, wandered around the town, while we did the tour. They thoroughly enjoyed their visit too. Stay over at least one night to explore the area. There is a Premier Inn very close by to the brewery and the town.

Great visit to a working brewery. A fabulous tour around probably the oldest brewery in the country, greeted at the bar cafe and after a brief introduction you put on your hi viz and issued with a visitors pass and then you are taken around, climbing to the top of the building, what a great view, and working your way down with every step of brewing Greene kings fantastic beers explained in depth with history and stories thrown in as well.
After the tour you are invited to go upstairs in the cafe bar where the experience is continued with tasting samples and seeing and smelling the various hops that go to produce the beer.
A great time to spend a few hours if you visit Bury st Edmunds , oh yes you also get to take a bottle of beer, of your choice, home with you.
Special thanks to Cathy, our tour guide, your knowledge and information you gave us, particularly the funny stories, were brilliant and I am so glad we booked up for this tour…..thankyou

This place is what you’re looking for. Great local beer and whiskeys, delicious pub food (including scotch eggs) and lovely staff. Couldn’t recommend this place enough.

We had such a great experience here. We walked in randomly to have a bite to eat and a drink and were very happy with the service. We were served by Hamish who was so nice and insightful, and made us Australians feel very at home. Would come back.

I’ve booked a tour for 2pm tomorrow. I was wondering if you have to get there any earlier than that? Plus I’ve got a copy of the invoice but no actual tickets or anything? Is this the norm?

Absolutely... we're open 10am to 6pm
Monday to Saturday and this weekend, if you're venturing to Bury for the Christmas Fayre, were open till 8pm....so do visit, and why not do a brewery tour too? Give us a call on 01284 714297 to check availability

Hi - we're only open for tours on Sunday - we have a few spaces on the 11.30am tour.
