Amazing view at the top. The Stepping Stones walk was a little tricky but manageable....not ideal for limited fitness/difficulty mobilising etc...
There are steps to the top of the hill and when you get to the top you can enjoy the views as well as tea and cakes at the NT cafe. Lovely place, would visit again!

Just a lovely place to visit so some tips. You can park at the base of the hill and climb up which is nice but obviously bear in mind any kids, elderly, fitness etc.
it is possible to drive to the very top which is a National Trust base. There is paid parking but reasonable. Some online says no cafe but there are some van concessions and hatch type cakes/ice creams but check closure times before doing any longer walks and expecting treats on return.
Very little shelter if wet
Once you hit the walks, it’s much quieter. Areas are very dog friendly unless a grazing season but they are well signed.

Just completed the 8 mile Box Hill Hike and my feet and knees are still in recovery! It's a gorgeous walk, but there are very steep climbs up (including uneven steps) and very steep climbs down into the valley. The whole walk is very well signposted and other walkers are very friendly and helpful at pointing you in the right direction. It was a challenging walk and definitely needed walking boots and sticks to remain steady on uneven surfaces. The cafe at the end was a treat after such a long walk... As was the Running Horses pub at around 2.5miles.

Great walk around National Trust area. Chose the box hill hike - 8 miles - and it filled the day. Well signposted. Lots of ups and downs. Passed 2 pubs on the route. Lovely walk.
Car park had good facilities. National trust staff about to offer advice.

Amazing views and great dog walks - especially the stepping stones - and lovely cafe at the top. Plus lots of nice pubs nearby for a drink afterwards.

We came over from Kent to the delightful NT property and had a rainy but nice walk through the lovely woods, well maintained but not sculptured

Terrible baby change facilities. There was only 1 working toilet in the ladies and the changing mat directly obscures the cubicle door, no space for a pram in there either. No changing facilities in the disabled toilet which would have made more sense as there is more space. I couldn't change my baby because I would have blocked the whole ladies bathroom trying to do it. Also there was no toilet roll. All food options sold out in cafe except cheese and onion pasty.

A short 15 to 20 mins bus ride from Leatherhead gets you to a good starting point at Zig Zag Road where u trek on pebbled footpath alongside the grassland. Prices at cafe were reasonable. Be mesmerised by the view at viewpoint. Grab a book and chill away!

We went on Sunday 12/05/2019 and can confirm the steps are closed it seems one the the steps has become dislodged and is unsafe to cross.

There is a fee for the car park - £1.50 hour. £3.00 - 2hours
