The Queen Elizabeth II Bridge is a very impressive bridge that carries the Tyne & Wear Metro between Newcastle to Gateshead over the majestic River Tyne.
Constructed between 1976 - 1978 and opened in 1981 ,its such a beautiful bridge, its 352 metres long and painted a lovely blue colour, we first glimpsed it arriving from Liverpool Lime Street Railway Station into Newcastle Central Station as we crossed the River Tyne, took a few photos from the train ,its a beautiful bridge, most definitely well worth checking out if you're in the area around the River Tyne.
