My twin brother Stephen and I were walking down and around Ouseburn just off Quayside and came across Allan House, a wonderful and historic building that certainly impresses.
Originally home to the Tyne Tees Steam Shipping Co Ltd and latterly a hotel ( Hotel Du Vin ) is a great example of Victorian architecture at its best, its quite a big structure ,it commands your attention, lots of nice features, The Victorian Tunnel and Victorian Waggonway trails start here ,there are information boards in the grounds of Allan House denoting these tours , its a very photogenic building, makes for some great photographic opportunities and is easy to locate along City Road.
