The Roman wall of Chichester is amazingly well preserved and the walk around the wall is a wonderful way to appreciate it and see some of the city. Highly recommended.

The walls are quite good though not high and the views are pretty average. Compared with others - such as York - pretty average.

Lovely walks , both in the Bishops Gardens and outside towards Priory Park / Orchard Street. Wide ancient city walls dividing the city from the those traditionally outside of the protection of the medieval defensive walls. It is a lovely, if disjoined walk , on top of the walls it is some 12 foot high in places and (now ) with woodland trees.

Driven past/round the walls many times and never new people could actually walk the tops of the walls, They are in walkable sections, it’s a lovely place to go for a walk,
Well kept, not to stressful and not that busy when we were there,
on one part of the wall/walk there is also a very lovely large park with a nice cafe,
also
public toilets,
will be back!
well worth a look,

It is free to walk the city walls. They are not complete and are very much part of the living city (so beware of cars when walking adjacent to the walls etc). Fun to see how far you can get and difficult to ‘get lost’. Some great views to be had.

Amazing ancient walls surrounding the majority of Chichester city centre. I walked the majority of the circuit, partly on top of the wall, partly just outside the wall, partly just inside so at various points there were good views of the town, the wall itself and its bastions.
Even with a map it is not easy to follow the circuit; signage could be better

So wanted to walk the walls of Chichester, read the information and admire the views. Sadly not able to as we have a dog!

The City Walls and free and easy to access. We walked from Northgate to the cathedral and within the Bishop's Palace gardens and both gave good views outside the city.

The history of Chichester represented by the walls walk, with good panels dotted round. Got a bit lost towards the end as some of the signage seemed to be missing or hidden from view, but we did have the guide map.

Although the walls are not complete, many large chunks still remain. It provides a pleasant and thought provoking walk. Information boards are dotted along and gives history dating back to around 300AD.

Many are suitable. The "inner ring road" (A286, on Google maps) pretty well follows the outside of the walls. Probably the one at the north end of town, just below theatre, or the big one on East side... the former cattle market... are your best bets... near "good" parts of the walls, and not very expensive.
