Very good views good bus service but could not find the walls had a lovely cathedral food and drinks where not too badly priced could go further afield on the buses had a good railway service would certainly go again we where on a campsite about 5 miles away but buses where every 20 minutes till about 10pm lovely countryside and some easy walks to do

A worthwhile experience. Although not a complete circle of wall it’s nevertheless an interesting walk with lots of explanatory boards en route. Highlight is the Bishops Gardens. Worst was navigating around South Gate.

We like walking city walls and here in Chitchester there are good sections of the ancient defenses to walk along, right around the city's circumference. There are lots of info boards telling you all about the city's history right through the ages.
Fortunately we had a sunny day to enjoy the delights of this peaceful, informative walk.

Walls are reasonably complete but at some key points signage is absolutely terrible, even the leaflet guide is not clear at points. I'd advise walking clockwise as this might avoid some of the problems we encountered going the other way. Look out for the unusual (&sad) blue plaque you can see on a house in the row just N of East street

Thoroughly enjoyed this activity it was a free stroll around the city walls. We had been advised to take the walk after talking with a local lady outside St Pancras church. It was very interesting with lots of focal points along route and description boards also giving limited history.

The walls are not complete so it is somewhat of a disjointed walk but pleasant enough on a fine day. The best starting point is probably south of the Cathedral where the walls are obvious and where there are some descriptive boards but by there nature it is not all accessible for the less agile. There is a leaflet available from the tourist information office ( if you can find it in the first place - in the museum).

The Roman wall of Chichester is amazingly well preserved and the walk around the wall is a wonderful way to appreciate it and see some of the city. Highly recommended.

The walls are quite good though not high and the views are pretty average. Compared with others - such as York - pretty average.

Lovely walks , both in the Bishops Gardens and outside towards Priory Park / Orchard Street. Wide ancient city walls dividing the city from the those traditionally outside of the protection of the medieval defensive walls. It is a lovely, if disjoined walk , on top of the walls it is some 12 foot high in places and (now ) with woodland trees.

Driven past/round the walls many times and never new people could actually walk the tops of the walls, They are in walkable sections, it’s a lovely place to go for a walk,
Well kept, not to stressful and not that busy when we were there,
on one part of the wall/walk there is also a very lovely large park with a nice cafe,
also
public toilets,
will be back!

Many are suitable. The "inner ring road" (A286, on Google maps) pretty well follows the outside of the walls. Probably the one at the north end of town, just below theatre, or the big one on East side... the former cattle market... are your best bets... near "good" parts of the walls, and not very expensive.
