Free parking, free admission, what’s not to like?
Well, plenty of things, but that doesn’t matter because there are plenty of things which DO interest me - and when it’s free, you don’t feel guilty about skipping the looms (yawn!) and getting directly to the cars and trams!
Other people’s tastes may vary, and that’s fine too. Pay a visit - there’s something here for everyone.
Except that is for a cafe, which there used to be, and believe me is sorely missed! A vending machine selling Kitkats in lieu of actual catering is a bit of a let down, so can only suggest you have lunch beforehand!

Excellent museum for those interested in local industry
Volunteers were very friendly and knowledgeable, Gand gave an interesting talk and printing demonstration.

Absolutely amazing day out today at #bradfordindustrialmuseum . FREE entry ( donations welcome).
It is very child and SEN friendly. Machines run at intervals throughout the day with ear defenders provided if needed.
Relaxation room with picnic tables, sofas, book's and children's toys. Plus a tea and coffee machine at only £1 a drink ( take cash) .
They had several children's trails to take part in, one for Yorkshire day, a sunflower trails, find the kids tv characters, and of course, the 11 stuffed rats hidden throughout the galleries in the Mill. Jackson absolutely LOVED hunting for them.
They had at least one interactive station for the kids in each room, including a printing press, a train set, a wooden bus to drive, plus much more.
It was a very chill.amd steady day, not busy at all, even Tee-Jay enjoyed it as he didn't have the anxiety of other guests. We almost had the place to ourselves!
It was so lovely to see the Tee take Jackson under his wing, play with him , show him around, and help him look for all the items on the trails.
On top of all that, obviously there were all the galleries to look around. A great insight into history.
A fave of mine was the back to back houses.
The gift shop was also reasonably priced , I got the kids a little something each.
Also want to mention the staff and volunteers who were so friendly and helpful. They definitely added to the experience.
A little hidden gem, and we will definitely be going back!

This museum based in Eccleshill Bradford is a little gem! We had a great visit , from on entering the museum we were greeted by such lively reception team who were very helpful telling us about what was in the museum . The exhibits in all areas were very interesting and lots of them . We particularly enjoyed the printing press area where Gand demonstrated some of the presses to us , he was very informative and kept the children interested and engaged . The houses outside were great set up through the years . There was a toy workshop on the day we visited but it was full by the time we got to that area which was slightly disappointing but on the way out we called at the forge where the blacksmith demonstrated how to make a large steel nail . He was also very informative and the children enjoyed watching the process and were delighted when they were presented with the nail to take home .
A fab day out especially on a rainy day , highly recommend!

we are a group made up of people with learning disabilities who regularly attend outings. the gorup had decided to visit the Bradford Industrial museum. upon arrival we was greeted by the extremely helpful and friendly staff who made us feel instantly welcome. the exhibits was well maintained and the group learnt a lot about the industrial age.This was a brilliant day out and the fact it is free is amazing.

The Mill is on the outskirts of Bradford and it is free to visit and park, or catch the 645 bus from Market Street. It is closed on Mondays. You can see a lot of textile and steam powered machines and at certain times you can watch a demonstration of them. Also they have some old printing machines and it was interesting to see a demonstration of them. You could also have a look at some of the houses where the Mill Manager and mill workers lived. There were also vintage cars on display. In fact, there is too much to mention here so go along and enjoy wandering round it like we did.

Had a great visit to the museum with friends from Scotland. A really clean, well presented venue with plenty to see for everyone. The only tiny critical point would be that there is no cafe to speak of so if you arrive hungry, you'll be disappointed. If there is not the business to justify one then I can see why. The reception staff were very helpful and the lady in the owner's house playing the part of the mill owner's wife was brilliant, loved her.

Free entry and free parking a great few hours , went primarily to see the Jowett cars but with so much more to see it was a worthwhile visit

We loved our experience at the museum. It's our second visit and both have been really informative engaging and interesting. We have a 3 year old son and we really appreciate the toys and items of interest dotted around the museum for younger children to interact with. A large wooden bus he can have a go at driving, train set to play, dolls House, kitchen set up.. also the rats around the museum that you can find We have played along with this each visit.. love the interactive elements having a go at stamping ink and seeing inside the train, as well as the waterwheel and looking round the houses. All good fun. But we particularly liked seeing the blacksmith work this was fab. We watched him make a nail from scratch and then he stamped our sons initials in the top of it. An experience we won't forget.. Great to see. Lovely museum and staff are very friendly and helpful throughout the museum.

You do t need to book ahead, simply turn up and enjoy ! I believe it’s closed on a Monday though

Not as such. There is a relaxation room with tables, chairs and self service tea/coffee making facilities. You would have to take your own snacks, sandwiches etc.

There are multiple donation points but nobody asks you for money . Its good to chuck something in the pot though .
