Visited by chance as we were just passing.

My wife and I visited East Riddlesden Hall last week. It's a small Hall with beautiful gardens and a duck pond in front of the main entrance. The ceilings in the Hall are particularly interesting being designed in one room by local builders/plasters and in another by Italian craftsmen. Lots of interesting features and furniture. The volunteer guides inside the Hall are all very knowledgeable, enthusiastic and helpful. Don't hesitate to asjk them anything about the Hall as they are all very keen to share what they know about the Hall and the individual rooms.

Really enjoyed our day out. Would say you could do the whole thing in around an hour if you didn't hang around and read the signs & play on the equipment. The house was lovely, although was smaller than we expected. Could have been more to read/ do/ look at within the house. The kids loved playing in the grounds, such a good idea having garden games laid out for kids to play. We would recommend and we will be visiting again in the future

I can't speak highly enough of our experience at East Riddlesden Hall today! I visited with my husband, Son in Law and 6 year old grandson. The activities set up for children this summer are excellent. We hunted for wooden mice in the hall and completed the 'trim trail' (a bit like an adventure playground), several times. Some colouring and cutting out in the activity room was followed by rolling hoola hoops, building jenga towers and other activities on the main lawn. We spent ages in the mud kitchen area, weighing dry leaves and sticks in the bucket scales, learning a bit about maths and science at the same time as having lots of fun. Various refreshments from the cafe were enjoyed by us all, with the visit rounded off with some fun in the meadow by the river. The guides in the hall are very welcoming and knowledgeable and made the visit interesting for both adults and our 6 year old.

What a beautiful house with such informative and helpful volunteers.
The house has so much atmosphere and being reasonably small it is easy to see everything in each room .
We were so impressed by the volunteers in each room .They obviously love the place and they were so knowledgeable and enthusiastic.
The barn was also impressive, Being both a historian and a farmer I was enthralled the entire structure.
One of the best houses I have visited in years.

This is a beautiful, intimate and historic 17th century property to visit in West Yorkshire. The gardens are a small oasis on the estate, with a children’s play area snuggly located within it.
Whilst walking around the property, the volunteers are very helpful and knowledgeable. The cafe is a lovely addition to have lunch.
It is a small property and will take 2 hours maximum to look around. It had free parking.

We stopped here on the way back from holiday in the Lake District. There is lots to see & do, crafts for the children plus very informative tour guides we learnt lots. Only about £9 to get in if not NT members, considering what is there it’s great value. The cafe is good value too with helpful staff. Would recommend!

We popped in here as it was near to where we were and we had a couple of hours spare. The hall is gorgeous to look at from the outside. We managed to look around the hall on the inside within about 30 minutes. Wasn’t a lot inside but it was well looked after and cared for. We had a little stroll around the gardens before heading to the barns. We saw the Muscovy Duck waddling around and saw the nest. It would have been nice to see this area sectioned off with a rope to stop people walking over the nest. Some people don’t look much on the ground but in front of them. All in all we spent approx 40/45 minutes here.

Found this easily, well signed. The car park is on a slope but there’s an overflow car park at the bottom. A lovely setting. A lovely house.

A beautiful place to visit and one that has a wonderful history. Set in beautiful grounds with a small lake in front it offers a great day out for both couples and families. We visited at Easter and there was a family event going on with lots of fun things for the children to take part in. The staff are very knowledgeable and really know the back story of the house which we found interesting. The café serves lovely food and the gift shop is well stocked. There are also walks in the grounds and a circular one that goes from the house alongside part of the Leeds Liverpool Canal.
