Having long been exploring the greater Avebury landscape, nearly missed Falkner's Circle, despite having driven past it literally hundreds of times.
Located just a few hundred metres to the east of the West Kennet Avenue at a point about one third of the way along its length are the remains of a small stone circle known as "Falkner's Circle". Sadly only one of the stones is still visible and its easy to miss.
Still a hidden gem of the Avebury landscape, so much so that i didn't see another soul on my exploration.
Small layby parking at the end of the path by West Kennet Avenue - free, so always good!
If you like your prehistoric monuments, this is one of the lesser known ones!
