Followed the All Trails hike for Summer Hill and Worcestershire Beacon. The day was perfect - a bit glowery and blustery but not cold. The walk through the tress up to the hills was just fine - moist and soft under foot but not muddy. The hike had some slope - my legs felt it but not unpleasant. We hike a lot back home in Colorado and this was a mid-moderate slope.
The view from the Beacon was spectacular. Rarely have I had a full 360 panorama from a single point out almost 20-25 miles in every direction. Just breathtaking.
Car park was easy to manage but one of the dearer ones we have run into at parks in England. I would suggest planning a good long trek as there is only a single day rate - no shorter discounts.

Walked up to Worcester Beacon from Malvern. Highest point in the hills. Also walked to British Camp and back. Nice Wetherspoons in Malvern. Malvern is a lovely place to stay, we found free parking, lots of restaurants including Indian restaurants.

Expensive as we were only stopping for a snack at the cafe opposite (Excellent BTW).
I parked my car in the only free space at the far end of the car park. I immediately walked to the ticket machine where there was a small queue and purchased my ticket. On walking back to my car (no more than 3 minutes after arrival) there was an attendent photographing my car - I politely asked her to stop as I had a ticket in my hand. Having taken a photo of my reg plate she continued to step forward and take a photo of my dashboard. I Explained that by law I had ten minutes to decide whether or not to park on private land. She accused me of being rude. I asked her to delete all the photos as I placed the ticket on my dashboard. I hope she did.
This is really sharp practice on her behalf - and to be honest I wish I had actually been rude to her as it really upset me. Please train your staff on the law regarding purchasing tickets and the rudeness of continuing to take photos when the customer has clearly explained that they have paid.

These beautiful hills overlooking Greater Malvern have everything nature lovers could want. Beautiful walks, overlooking three counties with plenty to do in the town.

Parked north quarry car park, which the machine took cash, rough gravel with no lines, took a photo of map in car park so didn't get lost.followed fairly steep and rugged path up to the beacon.well worth the effort as the views are spectacular.picked a busy day as there were three school trips at the summit, but plenty of room for everyone.when we return we will walk some of the others.

We took a lovely hike up to the top of the hills. We met many photogenic sheep and cows along the way. Great views all around.

This is one of the best walks in the UK if you are fit enough to haul yourself up the initial climb to the top of the hills’ ridge. The 360 degree views from the top are spectacular. You also need strong “breaking” legs for the steep decent. Good paths criss-cross the whole range.
A must-do activity if you are in the area.

We walked up the British Camp on Easter Saturday. The people not gripe I would have is that there isn’t anywhere near enough parking. People were milling around waiting for others to leave which was a pain. Other than that, it is certainly worth visiting. The ascent was pretty steep but goes directly to the top with amazing views emerging as you go. Good excuse to stop and catch your breath as you go. Once up at the very top that’s the hard work done, we headed down towards the reservoir after this which was easy going, again with lovely views as you go. We had a sit down as we went and the whole walk probably took no more than about 1 1/2 hours. There were plenty of other routes we could have taken so will definitely come back some time to get some more fresh air.

Parking on Malvern hills is £5.25 - all day ,no option for someone like me who just wants to park/walk for an hr ,its a bit too much .Everywhere I go now its parking fees ,don't we pay enough road tax ,council tax and VAT ?

Staying in Great Malvern can anyone recommend the best bits of the hills to walk .. assume the Worcestershire beacon but want a bit more than an up and down of that but don’t really want to spend the 5-6 hrs walking the whole range & getting transport back. So after the Worcestershire beacon where would be the next best point to head for .. ?

We walked from British camp (parking there was reasonable) to the end just past great malvern and found it lovely with great views and back this took us about 3 to 3.5 hours and it was great.

Hello, I’m a uni Student in Birmingham. Looking for somewhere to let loose post lockdown during a weekend. Are the hills relatively close to the 2 main train stations? If so which is best? Also is it achievable for a novice to reach the top in an afternoon or a day so i can get a train back not too late. Im originally from South Lincs (the flat lands) just wondering if its really steep and suitable for a novice like me thats used to flat terrain? I really hope its achievable as this place looks amazing!
Thanks in advance

Very easy to reach the top of the hills and back in an afternoon. Either train station works.

Hello,
I like to know which is the best car park? Is this car park at the bottom meaning a long difficult steep walk up for nice scenic views or which is the highest car park where a normal car can reach as I dont have a 4x4 car.
Which walk path is the easiest and gives the best scenic views in shortest walk time and where is the starting point of this route or is there a cat park next to it for easy access?
Can the Gullet Quarry be accessed by foot?
Lastly regarding toilets, which ones are open to the public and locations of these.
Finally for the best views that means a long steep walk up the hills? Whats the highest place for a car can park to shorten the walking distance?
Much appreciated,

Not been to Gullet Quary so cant comment on this.
If you’re heading to British Camp the car park is easily accessed but the walk from it to the top is quite tough going (no closer car park) well worth the effort as views are stunning. No toilet in car park but there is the pub / hotel across the road.
Another area is up around the Wyche Inn, couple of car parks here and a public toilet, not sure if toilet open at the moment.
There is a car park along Upper Beacon road, not too bad a walk up the hill for the views.
Hope this helps.

Which is the best car park? I'm not bothered about cost but the largest one. We're going with a baby in a carrier and need the space

Hi sorry about the delay..... yes I agree with the previous post the British Camp car park is the biggest. Its opposite the Malvern Hills Hotel which has a nice restaurant.

Would it be possible to take an elephant or tazmainian Gorilla to the top? I am currently looking after a couple for a friend and apparently they need regular exercise. Many thanks

Gorillas are more than welcome. I think there's a MHDC notice to that effect at the British Camp Car Park. There are several handy gorilla-friendly benches on the way up if there is any sign of gorilla fatigue. There are also some on the way down, too, which is nice. Dont forget to bring your own bread. If you want toast at the end of the walk you could put it under the gorilla.

It’s a long way to the top and to be honest I’ve never seen anyone with a pushchair on the hills ever! Depends on how fit you are and what time of pushchair you have. I’ve seen people wearing baby carriers but never a pushchair so I’ll say no, sorry 😐
撰写日期:2019年1月3日
Yes it’s massive but you don’t have to do it all. There are regular places to park all the way up so you can just do as much or as little as you would like or are able.

Is this place suitable for under 2s?
Thank you for responses in advance

It is hilly but the paths are in good order. The scenery is beautiful but not sure a two year old will appreciate it; but you will!
撰写日期:2018年8月22日
Defiantly NO, far to bumpy track narrow, hazardous and steep. Sorry to disappoint you but not recommended!.
