Very interesting exhibition on the works of Frank Brangwyn. On until the end of September and worth visiting . Two other good exhibitions are also on now

The Storial museum and art gallery is located next to the Police station, a short distance, via a little park from the main bus station. The museum consists of 5 galleries over 2 floors. There is a lift to access the upper galleries as well as stairs. The collection includes art, ceramics, textiles, furniture, archaeology, social history, photographs, coins and medals.
In the displays, which are mostly behind glass, items are numbered and there is a description/explanation of the item in both Welsh and English. There are a small number of audio visual boards which are either in Welsh with English subtitles or visa versa.
There is little in the way of hands on experience, no dressing up station etc. so I would say it is more suitable for adults than younger children. Personally I did find many exhibits to be of interest and spent an hour in the museum. I did not visit the art gallery section of the building on this occasion.
There is a café on the ground floor and a gift shop. Also on the ground floor is a unisex toilet and one for disabled visitors. Entry to the museum is free.

Art? A baboon with a trowel might show more talent.
The museum was closed as was the cafe .
Don't waste your energy visiting
There's so much art and inspiration locally yet this exhibition was cold and extreme. I love to see every form of art but stood far too long trying to find a glimmer of technique, skill, joy, happiness or reason these were chosen to fill the gallery
Such a beautiful opportunity filled was someone trying to be unique but frankly creating uninspiring bilge.
Having been to Llanbedrog and viewed some spectacular work , some more abstract and surreal but still had value , purpose, reason.
Please try to show art that has real impact.

Thank you for your review. We're very sorry to learn that you did not have an enjoyable visit with us.
The museum is fully open once more and the coffee shop is open for teas, coffees, cold drinks and snacks and is a lovely quiet space to meet a friend or read a book.
It would be good to know which exhibition in particular you are refering to, as we will be able to take it into account when curating future exhibitions.

A lovely place to visit to learn about Welsh history, arts and crafts-they have some really interesting items on display so it is worth taking your time to look at the collection. The art exhibition was really interesting when I visited with a wide range of creative skills showing 40 years of the Art Foundation course and the talents that have emerged through that. The shop has some lovely gifts and beautiful selection of cards. Highly recommend. It's also free!

Interesting and free stop to learn about North Wales and take in some local artists. Also, a very nice cafe Indeed!!

Visited Storiel for a photography exibition and enjoyed looking around the gallery at the photos and other exhibitions. The shop was well stocked with a variety of gifts to buy and many local crafts. Went to the cafe afterwards and had a lovely tuna melt on brown bread with a latte. Both myself and my friend enjoyed the experience very much.

Have been to Storiel's Cafe a hand full of times since it has opened, and every time I unfortunately have the same experience with the staff. They come across very rude, I visited the Cafe last Tuesday and sat down on an empty table. Was immediately told "find somewhere else to sit, that's reserved" was happy enough to move but the table wasn't marked reserved and the manner in which I was asked to move was completely off putting. I then ordered a tuna mayo toastie, was then served a tuna melt toastie, fine not a big deal. Took it to the counter to ask for the correct order as I'm lactose intolerant and can't eat cheese, and in reply I got a huff from the server and no actual reply to my face, only heard her saying to the cook "she wants a tuna mayo". It seems a let down from the staff as Storiel was one of the only decent cafes is Bangor. Not impressed by the customer service.

We love this museum and visit every year while on holiday on Anglesey. The shop has so many wonderful things to buy and the lady at reception is lovely. The cafe is great and they are very helpful. We love the museum and all they have on display. This place is a real gem and more people should visit and support it.

It is well worth a couple of hours to walk around and see all the exhibits, and then visit the cafe and have some refreshments.

Well where to start. Came in to the cafe last week and was relatively busy and was greeted with a great smile from all staff. Very friendly atmosphere. Menu was great. Specials board had some great options. I went for the vegetable spring rolls and had some carrot soup also which was absolutely amazing to which I had to compliment the lovely young lady that had made it. Then my partner had the Welsh rarebit which also tasted amazing. Service was speedy and efficient which is lovely to see. Place was very clean and kept tidy. Can see this little cafe is run very well by a great young group of ladies. Prices were a little steep on some things but with the quality being so great its justified. So happy to see such a lovely little place in Bangor for families to go. About time Bangor. Shame I didn't know this place existed sooner. Museum part was slightly boring. Not much to see or excite me really but still it's a lovely little find. Will be coming back here a lot more often. Da iawn storiel
