After having visited the pub in December 2021 I decided to take 3 friends who were in Bangor for the British Masters Weightlifting championships up at the University for a few drinks. I got there on a very busy Saturday night at 7.50 pm and my friends turned up later at 8.20 pm by which time you could hardly move. The beers were as good as last time and I met the owner/landlord who was making sure there was order in his pub even with a major football match was on! Great atmosphere. The only downside are the toilets which are not clean.

To have 3 different real ales and my wife praising the Pinot Grigio white wine, I was in heaven. This is a brilliant pub and we were served by two helpful staff at a quiet time in the early afternoon Friday 10th December. On the walls: I loved the old 1964 Hornet comic with a front page featuring Bangor City FC! There pictures of pop groups associated with Bangor and several boxers! Very quirky and buying a simple round of two halves of beer + large glass Pinot Grigio and two packets of crisps came to less than £10. One of the best pubs I have been to!

I was in Bangor for a reunion we ended the night at the globe it was a great atmosphere with great beer good prices and a great selection on the juke box.

Brilliant atmosphere and friendly staff made for a grwt night out. Defintely reccomended. Very cheap drinks aswell.
