Amazing

Brilliant day out for families. We have 2 youngsters under five and from the minute we entered they were entertained. From the little go carts for toddlers to numerous play areas. We stayed about 4 hours ending at the maze.
The 4yr old was in his element on the digger,scooping, lifting and dumping gravel.(you have to book this before hand).Both children loved it all even the fairy princes, it was quite magical. We must forget the pirate with his parrot, he entertained everyone all day, he was brilliant and with the children.

Family day out

We visited gypsie wood today Tuesday 30 th may ,with a 11year old and 13year old ,had a fantastic time ,plenty to do all day ,very clean and tidy ,plenty of bins,toilets and picnic tables the cafe is reasonable prices to ,very enjoyable day ,very surprising the animals are great very well cared for and clean ,the parking is good ,the only thing is there isn't much sign posts to tell you were gypsies wood is and the gift shop is full of normal toys ,not much merchandise for gypsie wood ,the older lady that was seving didn't look very happy ,and there is no prices on some of the toys in the gift shop and the women at the till is just guessing how much the price is ,which I didn't like .

Thank you so much, so pleased you enjoyed your visit. We have been and still are trying desperately to get new brown visitors attraction signs. We have tried in the past with more Gypsy merchandise at the shop, however unfortunately it just hasn't sold. I will make sure the prices on the boxes are marked clearer. The lady in the shop has been on park since 2004 and manages our shop, we promise you she loves her job and knows all the prices. Many thanks for your feedback.

Great kids day out

Very good weather which helped us have a great time. Lots of things to do with the kids (18 month old and 3 year old). Very quite as we went during the week. Kids enjoyed the train ride and the outdoor play areas. Kids spent most of the time painting a car and fishing for ducks (they loved this!). Really glad we went.

Good place

Visited yesterday (16.05.23) very quiet literally only a few people and it was brilliant lots to do from duck racing, train ride, diggers, trampolines, animals including those you can pet etc etc
Reasonably priced, cafe was fairly good. Not sure how good a day if it was summer holidays and busy though as it did seem quite limited but for us on the date above it was decent.
Only downside you having to book online not sure why??

Many thanks for your kind review! So pleased you enjoyed your visit. Yes during the week, term times the park can be quiet which is lovely for those that can visit out of the chaos of school holidays and weekends. We do allow on the door entry during quieter periods. Day tickets are limited especially holiday periods as we only have limited space on the train etc and it avoids any disappointment or over crowding. Thank you again for visiting and we hope you will visit us again one day.

Absolutely brilliant!!

We visited here with our family as a day trip out from our Haven site and honestly it was one of the best days of our holiday! There was so much to do from the train ride, go karting, feeding the animals, trampoline and so much more. Our train obsessed son loved looking at the miniature train set up near the entrance and that was just the start to the lovely little details. Also the staff was lovely, especially the lady on reception who chatted to us as we looked round the gift shop.

Honestly had such a fantastic time and have been telling so many people about it since. We live in Manchester but hope we can come back again one day! Thank you Gypsy Wood for a fantastic day!

A little gem for little ones.

A nice sunny day probably meant this place is a little gem. Our 3 year old had a great time. It’s a little dated, a little basic, but it keeps on giving. The manual 2 seater go karts near the maze are just fantastic. Animals look well kept.
The park is pretty random though so expect some very basic things, but to Duck run is so simple it’s genius but just watch out for trapped fingers for the little ones.
We spend over 3 hours here and not once did we think we need to go. Donkey rides, face painting and train ride all extra, which I get, but the queuing system for the train is dictated too….which could be a problem is you book or arrive late and or need to leave earlier than planned.
You can take own food and perfect area for picnics.
The miniature railway line is interactive and my son was amazed he could send the trains off. The shop needs a serious upgrade of quality products.
Our 3.5 year old absolutely loved the place. If we lived local we would definitely have season passes and visit regularly.
We had a sunny day, and it was perfect for our needs but it’s probably 95% outdoor venue. So if it rains you will get wet.

Good experience some extra costs

I would struggle to think of a more fun place for young kids. So many interesting play opportunities my 6 and 3 year old could spend hours at the duck race and fishing alone. They had the best day, thank you. The donkey rides were fun. I understand that the face painting and donkey rides are additional to the ticket price as they are not part of the park, but there are also powered bikes which are a £1 a go and the train ride is £1.50 each and the diggers which are also extra, it bumps up the ticket price a fair bit if you do it all. Personally I think there should be one ‘free’ trip on the train per ticket as this is surely classed as part of the park? There was plenty to do and I would recommend it but plan to spend a bit extra, you will easily double the price of entry if you do all the extras too. Coffee from the cafe and ice creams from the hut were good value. All staff friendly and polite.

Thank you so much for your kind words. We are so pleased your little ones enjoyed there day with us. We appreciate your comments regarding the extra costs, it's a difficult decision with trying to keep the admission fee as low as we can. Around 4 years ago 1 ride on Woody was free with admission, however this resulted in long queues and an over worked train which also caused lots of issues. In the next few years, Woody’s track will need completely replacing. We are hoping by charging for Woody we will be able to replace the track and keep him on his tracks for many years to come.

Great park for toddlers

Lovely park for young children, plenty to see and do, would definitely revisit when in the area.
Take old shoes and clothes to get mucky in but you don't have to get dirty

Charming family day out with small kids

This was our second visit in the past year and both days were a wonderful family experience. We went with a 4 year old and 10 month old. Staff were friendly and helpful. The grounds are filled with curiosities, details and moments to capture the imagination of little ones. We particularly enjoyed the pedal go karts, maze and diggers this time around. Our 4 year old remembered and particularly enjoyed the miniature rail, train ride and duck racing again too. A good day out - though wellies recommended on a rainy day.

Great family day out

We went as a family ranging from smaller child to teens and adult.
We all had an amazing day here.
Spent 5 hours here, riding the dinkies, going on rides, petting animals, having a little train ride and getting lost in the maze.....
For the price I think it's a great place to visit with children. Plenty to do.
Buttons to press to make all the little toy trains run along the tracks :)
I would love to go again , when and if we return to this area.
