This place is wonderful! They have so much on they have shows, animal holding, slides my children love it here.
It’s dog friendly but not in the barns so would need someone to hold the dog if you have kids and want to go inside the barns.
There is a lovely soft play inside and role play also
The staff are so lovely my little girl LOVES the mr evs show we have visited a few times and love it every time even in the rain it’s very enjoyable!
Cage is good a nice selection not too expensive.

Positives -
We had a great day at Cantref, there was lots to do and our daughter loved the slip and slide and water fight. The food was lovely and the prices were very reasonable.
Negatives -
My main complaint is that while the larger animals seemed well taken care of, the small animal enclosures are not acceptable. The degus cage was absolutely filthy and the chinchilla had lots of space but no enrichment at all. All the wheels are made of wire which are painful to run on and can cause bumble foot.
Hamsters should have 100cm x 50cm unbroken floor space and at least 8 inches of bedding to burrow in. They are not great climbers, but unfortunately the food and water is on the top level and they are expected to climb up three very large levels to reach it. Flying saucer wheels will injure their back due to running at an angle, they should have a regular 12” wheel to avoid injuries.
We had a great day at Cantref but unfortunately I wouldn’t return until the above issues are addressed, even small animals deserve the best quality of life possible and it’s a very small cost to make these changes so please consider.

What a wonderful place to visit . We visited with our grandsons one 5 the other 8 . We thoroughly enjoyed . From the moment we arrived until we left at throwing out time we literally spent the whole day there ( They would have stayed longer 😂😂) They enjoyed every part of the day from
Meet the dinosaur, the show in the theatre , feeding the lambs , the pig racing , the tractor rides . We particularly liked the timing of everything and the fact that you could only go on certain things at certain times . This place is possibly the best place we’ve visited these holidays . Well done everyone & thank you for such an enjoyable day out

Amazing afternoon as a family.
Would certainly be going again.
Horse so well behaved. The kids even behaved.
Malisa our guide was outstanding. We went up in to mountains, along the stone path, through the river.
So beautiful. So worth the price.
Even got to trot a little. My kids not been on a horse before and yet they all did amazing thanks to Malisa instruction and patience. You really are a star.

Went out on a half day ride which took in some fabulous views of the Beacons. Very impressed with the two leaders which enabled the more experienced riders to have a canter by dividing the group. Clear instructions and good interaction with the group. Absolutely loved the emphasis on looking after your pony. Thank you Emily and Sophie xx

Visited her with my partner and 2 young girls and from the moment we arrived we was greeted warmly by staff at the reception. From here, we had a map along with a whole timetable of the different shows, rides and entertainment was on throughout the day. There is also announcements over the tannoy prior to each show etc. This was great as our young girls were eager to cram in as much as possible and we was also able to plan our day around what they wanted to do. The staff were great too, very friendly, approachable and always seemed to have time for a chat.
We managed to cover loads from the lamb bottle feeding, the swamp ride, meeting bluey the dinosaur, the tractor ride around the farm to see all the animals which also took in the stunning views of Pen y Fan to having the girls just more than happy to spend some time at the outdoor play area. The part we all loved the most had to be the pig racing, this is worth the entry fee alone. With their quirky names, it really was awesome, the girls absolutely loved it and the pigs really put on a show.
Food was lovely too. We thought there was a great selection available from vegan options, salads, child’s portions and more. The cafe was nice and clean too and there is also plenty of places to stop and fill up your water bottle, even through the farm is quite compact, you do cover a lot of ground.
Another great feature, which I briefly touched on above was that the farm was easy to get around, everything was in close proximity which, with 2 young girls was ideal.
We had the best day, leaving there both girls were sleeping by the time we got out on to the Brecon bypass !
We will definitely be back, in October for the pumpkin picking and even Christmas time to meet Santa Claus.
Definitely recommend for young families !

Brilliant day out, with so many things to do and all included in the price (except a £1 for crazy golf, which is still great value). The kids enjoyed it and really didn’t want to leave! The foam party was brilliant for the kids - thankfully I brought change of clothes!

I arranged a birthday surprise for my 6yr old granddaughter to have a 20 minute riding lesson with her brother at the riding centre. It cost £15 per person and it didn’t disappoint. The horse handlers Lucy and Mary were amazing. They clearly know how to put children at ease reassuring them all the time to make them feel safe. My grandchildren were afraid at first and I thought they would get off the horses but Lucy, especially , was so patient and encouraging that they stayed on the beautiful gentle horses until the end of the lesson. They did a gentle walk around the paddock , Brody on Jigsaw & Tate on Benny. The weather was pretty wet but we all were in awe of this experience. It made our day and Brody’s birthday. Well worth it !

We have been to Cantref Farm quite a few times, and my granddaughter always has an amazing time .
This time, it was to see the unicorn
.
The animals all appear to be well looked after.
There are a lot of timed events so you can plan your whole day perfectly and not miss out on anything .
There is a very reasonably priced restaurant which has lovely food but there are also lots of places you could eat your own picnic if you wanted to save some money.
There are large indoor play areas so if it rains you can get inside.
Staff are all friendly and kind.
I would definitely recommend 👍

We had such a lovely time at Cantref, staying in the foxglove yurt. Nothing was a bother for the lovely team and we were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived at the farm park.
The yurt was spacious and cosy with lovely little touches such as bunting and lights. The hot tub was amazing and the surroundings were so peaceful with beautiful views.
The park has plenty to do with such friendly, enthusiastic team helping the day go smoothly. My kids especially enjoyed meeting the animals, the bubble dance party and the end of the day foam! I really loved that none of these activities needed extra money, except 50p for a gold ball which is understandable!
If you are camping, the wood fired pizza night is not to be missed, with a lovely relaxed atmosphere and delicious pizza which was cooked to perfection!
Finally we booked riding sessions for both kids and they enjoyed it so much we had to book a second! Again the people were so lovely it put them completely at ease.
Brecon is nearby, which has a Morrisons as well as other shops and things to look round, so it's not to far to go if you need supplies.
The loo is a bit of a walk up the hill from the campsite, depending on where you are, so if your kids are small a potty or camping loo might be worth packing, but mine managed fine and the loos are lovely and clean and well kept.

My granddaughter was just under two, she loved it. We had great weather, which does make a difference.we'd heard mixed reviews,but didn't regret a minute of it.,however nearly two and one is a big difference, there is the indoor play area, and there are all the typical farm animals. I'm going to be completely honest,if she had been just one I don't think it would have been suitable.
This is no reflection on the farm, wait till next year and you'll have a great time.
