I recently had a one to one photography workshop with Nigel, and despite the awful weather forecast of rain, we ventured out up to the local waterfalls to do some long exposure photography and then onto some landscape locations and a lovely church.
It was an very informative day and i have taken the knowledge gained and have started to look at composition and creativity in a totally new way.
Nigel has a great approach and also a wealth of amazing knowledge and experience, which he is also willing to share.
We also went through a landscape presentation and some editing using Lightroom and photoshop
I cannot recommend enough, and i will be booking the next workshop soon.

An excellent 2 days on a 1:1 landscape photography course with Nigel in the Brecon Beacons. Nigel has a wealth of photography knowledge and experience and has a really good eye for composition. He also knows a lot of great locations for different weather conditions. I learned a lot about composition and quite a few very useful techniques with Photoshop specifically for landscape photographs. Highly recommended.

Landscape course for myself and a friend with Nigel. He knows some great locations for all the weather options in the Brecons. We had an amazing couple of days learning from Nigel. His wealth of knowledge from years of working in the photography business is incredible. Look forward to going back to the Brecons soon!

Nigel's landscape photography workshop in Dorset was jam packed full of useful techniques and tips for capturing the best images.

i did the 3 days landscape course with Nigel.He is a very good teacher and really got me engaged. I have now got more interested to take it more seriously.

I recently had the good fortune to attend the Brecon Beacons Landscape Photography Workshop run by Nigel Forster, Creative Photography Wales. The workshop was purchased by my children as a 60th Birthday present. I'm not a practiced photographer by any means, and was somewhat apprehensive and nervous about attending as I thought it might be well beyond my current capabilities.
Nigel, has a really great personality and is a really talented tutor, who apart from being very knowledgeable on the subject, is one of those rare people who can translate photographic technical speak into everyday layman terms and more importantly, provide you with the confidence to experiment with your camera and surprise yourself with what you can achieve with the right approach and mindset.
All in all, the entire workshop proved to be a very enjoyable and memorable learning experience, and wouldn't hesitate to repeat the experience all over again. If you are thinking about extending or refreshing your photography landscape skills you should give this a try - you wont regret it.

Great two day course on the Northumberland coast. I have been on similar courses with Nigel and I live in the NE but it is still an excellent learning experience to go on these courses, I always learn more about landscape photography and processing the images taken. Nigel gives useful tips and shares his knowledge and experience freely. Very worthwhile and for anyone who doesn't know Northumberland, it is a beautiful part of the country come see for yourself.

Nigel had detailed and precise knowledge of the locations we visited, and has a very keen eye for composition and making the most of the photographic opportunities whatever the conditions. Our small group had a variety of expertise, and I think all levels of ability did benefit from this workshop. Practical work is supplemented by a number of interesting presentations, and the chance to process results with software (by a separate Zoom this time). This particular workshop covered Northumberland coast and countryside, Hadrian's Wall, and Newcastle/Gateshead centre, and had flexible 2/3 or 4 day options. My personal objective was to come away with (some!) photographs which had impact and interest (like on the website!), to understand the use of filters, and to try some software image manipulation of RAW files, rather than JPEGS, and to use my camera other than on AUTO setting. I was delighted with the results. I think though a key benefit of Nigel was gaining from his expertise, at least some insight into how to "see" the landscape/seascape/cityscape and so take better photographs.

Dear Chris.
It is a shame that you've felt it necessary to post this. I've only just seen it but it's extremely damaging to me. As you're aware I did apologise profusely for the workshop not going ahead (I had no other bookings for it and therefore decided to take up another commitment for that week). I sent you an email saying I needed to change the date to allow more time for others to book. Your statement that 'I did not even bother to tell you' is simply untrue - why say such a thing? As you're equally aware I never took payment or confirmed your booking and just wasn't aware that you'd booked a hotel - your contact was a long time previously and there had been no other contact between us since.
You'll also recall that I sent you a list of local accommodation providers but you did not choose from this list but went with a chain hotel some distance away with an advance booking no refund policy. I could have secured you a refund from all of the local providers.
It is harsh to infer about my being 'more than happy to take your money' - I never requested payment and even for the original place. It is also unfair to report the £159 cost. This was a brief 4 hour evening workshop for which you seemingly booked 3 days in a hotel. The dates that you booked did not even coincide with the date that you anticipated the workshop going ahead. I had mentioned Weds 10th Feb as most likely date but your hotel booking was 11th - 13th. You are also aware of the extensive email exchange between us about trying to get hotel costs back
I find it such a shame that you felt it necessary to post such an unbalanced account with untrue statements and unfounded inferences.
