This bar and lounge is friendly and welcoming. The staff are excellent and make you feel at home in this traditional bar and lounge.
Each Thursday evening The Thistle Ceilidh Band play traditional Scottish dance music - Accordion, Fiddle, Moothie - worth popping in for live music! 8pm to 11 pm.
Coming out of the Railway station turn right, walk up to 2nd street on the right (Lochlands Street) and the bar is about 50 yds along on the right.
Don't miss this Taste of Scotland music.

It has been 20 years since I set foot in the Lochlands, and not much has changed. Thank goodness. The wonderful Drew was still behind the bar, and it was a night where I got to know to know strangers who weren't strangers after 20 minutes. It's a pub where the screens are quiet and conversation and interaction are welcome but if you are a private person then it's the place for you too. A great pub. After impersonal gastro pubs here in England I have decided that the air fare and room are well worth it, and I wiill become 'regular' at least on a monthly basis.

Nipping in on and off for last 20 or 30 years. Never changed much and I don't want it to either. Still Public Bar/ Lounge layout. Worth sitting for atmosphere and locals. Very much a mans pub, never known any trouble. Landlord fights a manful battle with 2 guest ales in a real ale outpost. Love it.
