The Pillars bar in the centre of Dundee is one of my,if not favourite pubs in Dundee,unfortunately this is not the oldest pub in the city centre as The Phoenix bar is 1856 which can be verified by looking above the door If you include Broughty Ferry as being part of Dundee then the Eagle Coaching Inn is the oldest 1597. Nonetheless the Pillars is top notch.

Great looking traditional pub. Some interesting apparently original paintings on the wall. Friendly locals who were happy to chat.

Dundee's oldest City Centre pub. All the original architecture with some very atmospheric paintings. As you go in the door there is very informative , chronologically accurate history of previous owners and uses. More importantly it is an exceptionally friendly pub with a great seletion of beers. The staff from the owner and his team down are brilliant and you are always made to feel welcome. Can't recommend it enough.

This friendly Old Style bar is in the centre of Dundee City. The walls have Old style paintings and the bar itself is an old style bar. Great atmosphere

Perfect little pub, nice selection of pints and lovely guinness. No food which is ok but a different selection of snacks would be nice. Peanuts, scratchings, bacon fries.
Free jukebox as well! Staff were lovely and so were the customers, great place to spend the afternoon

Popped in mid afternoon for a friend's get together. Lovely atmosphere, lovely staff. Jukebox is amazing.
Take time to look at the decor, and architecture.

Friendly staff - went out of her way to sort out my drink. Super clean toilets. Good but if banter at the bar. Overall felt like hole in the wall bar
