Fascinating survivor of another time

Volunteer guides were extremely interested and interesting - great knowledge and enthusiasm. A museum where you are really part of the exhibit, wandering through the ship with access to virtually all areas. Stooping to walk the lower decks really left a vivid impression of what life must have been like for the sailors on board. Will be back again as impossible to take in all the information in one visit. Just incredible to think 100 years on from this wooden warship's construction we had developed nuclear-powered submarines and spaceships to the moon!

Excellent Interative historical experience!

A great historical experience, most interesting and informative, most knowledgeable staff was Tony, who answered all our questions and more. A good experience for kiddies too with lots of interactive ,puzzles and games. Would suggest they have a "Wishing Well" or similar to make donations as the renovation will be extortionate! Can't wait to return with my grandchildren !

Absolutely well worth the visit loads of history and stories about the ship. Also the guy who greets you at the entrance was so pleasant and helpful and that goes a long way in my book. Definitely will come back with some of my grandchildren next time they will enjoy it.

Lots to do and see for the kids and the staff were very friendly. Worth a visit if you are looking for something to do in Dundee.

A gem of a museum

The oldest floating war ship in Scotland which is full of fascinating facts and information. Getting to explore the ship gives real insight into what life on a ship 200 years ago was like. The staff are really knowledgeable and are very helpful when answering questions. Would highly recommend everyone to visit this fantastic piece of history.

It was an eye-opening experience what a 200 year old sailing vessel was like. Amazing! The staff was awesome; friendly and willing to tell you anything you wanted to know. You could tell that they really loved this ship!

Fantastic find and well worth visiting

Amazed by the history of the vessel. Four levels with incredibly history and features. It really shows the life of the boat. Some of the lower decks are a little challenging to get round (height wise) but don't let that stop you. Great value for money and I would recommend everyone ti try ringing the bell on the top floor!

Wonderful dog friendly visit

This is an amazing piece of history
It’s intact - it will allow you to experience what life was really like on a ship in those times
It is also unique
It was built and completed at the end of the Napoleonic wars so didn’t go into battle
So you can really experience a ship from that era
And the volunteers who greet you
They are amazing
They really know their history and they are keen to share it with you
I learned so much from my visit
Best if all
We were able to take our wee dogs who were on holiday with us and there were welcome to join us onboard
So the whole family could visit

Outstanding!

Excellent place to visit. Very friendly staff and volunteers who were exceedingly knowledgeable and helpful. Interesting artefacts, well displayed and plenty for children to do. Very hands on. Especially enjoyed the ship's cat, Diego, guiding us around! Outstanding!

Great afternoon

Great afternoon on HMS Unicorn. Interactive QR codes around the ship giving interesting facts. There are bits that encourage photos - sit at the captains table, try on captains hat or/ and lie in the hammock. All the different things kept us entertained.
Staff were very friendly and helpful too.
And to top it all off… it was half price!
