It’s been our second visit to this little store. The quality of the product is outstanding and the stuff super friendly. It is nice to observe how the goods are manually crafted in the little workshop. Definitely worth visiting when you are interested in durable and high-quality leather articles.

Amazing quality leather goods. Andrew was super sweet, patient, helpful, and attentive throughout the whole customization process. They have a long term customer with me!

This is a wonderful gem of a shop with fantastic service! We popped into the shop while we were on holiday in the summer and the owner/staff were friendly and inviting. My husband commented on how much he loves their beautifully crafted handmade leather goods but alas we could not bring anything home right then. They shared great info about their products and let us know that they ship around the world and we left with their card.
Fast forward to this December and I reached out to order a custom piece for my husband for Christmas and they really knocked it out of the park for me. The product arrived and not only is it beautiful but it was fast. They were very accommodating and easy to deal with. The payment link was simple and straightforward. They were quick to respond and the product arrived in time and gorgeous.
We are in the middle of a mail strike here in Canada and I let them know that so they made certain to ship it so that we would not be impacted by that either.
Over all an excellent experience.

My wife and I first visited Mackenzie 28 years ago at their old location on Victoria Street. Once I saw that the incredibly well-built bags for sale downstairs were being made by a few craftsmen in the loft above, I was sold. At the time, I bought a briefcase and a weekend bag, which we still have and which are in fantastic condition after a generation of use! When we went back to Edinburgh in the summer of 2023, Mackenzie was one place we knew we had to visit. Even in the "new" location, the place feels the same. The main difference is that, in addition to the traditional -- mostly bridal leather -- designs, they now have a host of beautiful handbags. What remains is the increasingly rare privilege of interacting with the craftsmen who have designed and built your bags. We ended up purchasing custom purses for my wife and daughter, and they are fantastic! If you want a bag that not only looks beautiful but will endure years -- decades! -- of hard use, this is the place for you.

Great shop with skilled helpful leather workers
They did a great job on a silver belt buckle that needed a new belt

I was on vacation in Edinburgh with my family and stumbled upon this leather shop. You could smell the leather as soon as you opened the door, and saw the workshop in the back of the space. We left without purchasing but I kept thinking about the bags. I returned a few days later and decided to have a custom bag made. The whole process was so easy and they were very patient in working with me. I decided on a pattern and was able to pick the color of the body, the trims, the strap, etc. They even showed me the exact leather that my bag would be made from. It was such a fun seamless, process. I cannot wait to receive my bag!

Amazing, Gorgeous Handcrafted Bag,
We were looking for special bag (a nice gift for my wife).
We were very impressed with the quality of their handcraft. The service was great and very friendly we had a great consultation about what we needs and wants. We also got a lot of information about their products.
The leather is soft and the colors pair wonderful together.

I just received a beautifully crafted wallet from Mackenzie Leather. It is a new design with 10 slots for credit cards. The stitching is top quality. I ordered it in the "Shiny" leather ( dark brown ) and its gorgeous. It has that "rich" brown he and I can't wait for the patina to emerge as it does with all Mackenzie's vegetable tanned hides.

Great shop! They worked with me and customized a card holder (shrunk the pattern and used thinner leather. It came out beautifully, and they shipped it to me in California. I have the perfect momento.

On a recent trip to Edinburgh, my husband and I came across Mackenzie Leather by chance and were instantly enchanted. Had a lovely chat and browse, it was wonderful to see the craftmanship in action. We returned the next day to order an early birthday present for me. The process of picking out the leathers, colours and customisation was a joy. My bag was ready a few weeks later and I love it so much. Its more than a bag, its a piece of art.
