This place is permantley closed if you look it up on line it is no longer a business which is a shame as I wanted to visit but when I got there I found it no longer in operation.

This is a create tour which really does let you see the whole operation up close and personal. This isn't one of those tours where you're shown round at a distance by dedicated guides following a script. This is a tour by people who work there and are genuinely passionate about the product and it's all the better for it.
The tour is informative and you get to taste different beers at different stages of production; depending on what they're brewing at the time will influence what's available.
As well as that you get to enjoy some of the finished product as well.
Great value for money, really informative and a good way to spend a Friday evening.

Thoroughly enjoyable tour. Guide was incredibly passionate and knowledgable. Very relaxed atmosphere that welcomed questions. Range of beers, and opportunity to taste, was great.

A brilliant tour of the Edinburgh Beer Factory. It is not slick and smooth operation that leaves you informed but a little hollow. Instead, it is run by people who live and breathe these products and who truly believe in what they do.
You are given a beer when you arrive, which is always a good start! The tour then begins with a little bit of chat about the product and the background - which is really interesting.
You then go into the brewery, with another little beer in your hand, and get an explanation of the process, with a few more little top ups as you go. The brewer really knew his stuff and kept us all interested and informed. He patiently answered questions and just kept the tour (and the beer) flowing with all the information that you needed about the brewing process.
I felt that there was a real honesty to this tour. I told the guys that it wasn't slick and that I meant that as a compliment. Slick tours don't have heart. This tour has heart and soul....and a lot of beer! I genuinely loved it - and I had only booked it as a treat for my husband without any expectation of enjoying it myself!
I have been raving about this ever since I have done this and feel it is only fair that I share the love through TripAdvisor so more people can go along and enjoy the experience.

Really interesting tour of this small craft brewery in Edinburgh. Alex and Ellis were brilliant, told us interesting facts about beer making and the whole brewing process. Really cool to see how dedicated they are to making something special. And we got to taste so many of the beers - delicious! We’ll def be searching for them in the Netherlands. Thanks for the great afternoon guys!

brilliant tour met a couple of guys that work there top guys know their stuff very interesting and had a few drinks well worth a look folks young brewery in Edinburgh trading around the world mnaking a good name for them and scotland

Fantasticly informative tour by knowledgable, friendly and enthusiastic staff. Really enjoyed sampling the beers- the pilot stout was a favourite! Will be recommending to many people. Thankyou!

Really great tour! Staff are lovely and very knowledgeable. Very interesting tour and generous with the samples which doesn't hurt! Well worth the money.

I never did a brewery tour as technically precise and drinkful as this one. However, I must say that the price paid for it still seems a bit too high : Even though we drank a lot, the other compensations (Snacks/5 pounds off shop) were a bit omitted...
As for beer, make your own point of view and try it before !
For summarizing the experience, that could be a good step inside breweries world : Visits are done in smalls groups, technical knowledge of the guides is really good, and the equipment quite important compared to most so called craft breweries.
There might be one thing about communication : It sometimes feels artificial, with some things appearing as language elements but not reflecting the reality of the things. Edinburgh Beer Factory might want to be an industrial beer concurrent, but it should not imply that it digs into strange ways to say what it has to give.
As for beer, make your own point of view and try it before !

A fun afternoon out! Alex and Ellis were so passionate and interesting. Cool bar space to hang out in after and we received vouchers to spend in the shop, a fantastic experience run by a great team.
