We had our wedding at House for an Art Lover, and it was exactly what we wanted. The customer service is excellent, and the support from the Wedding Co-ordinators was outstanding. Everything from the food to the small details was executed perfectly, so I would recomment the venue to everyone.

We had a beautiful afternoon tea here. What a lovely setting, the staff were lovely, the sandwiches, scones and sweet treats were delicious. The atmosphere is calm and really pleasant. There is also a fabulous shop with lots of Charles Rennie Mackintosh inspired gifts. We really enjoyed the afternoon.

We got married at this beautiful venue on 25th August. It is such a beautiful place to have your wedding. The staff were very attentive , food was amazing and surroundings ❤️. It will always hold a special place in our hearts.

I loved this - the audio guide was superb, and we spent 2 hours touring the house - an amazing tribute to CRM.
One minor quibble - I had a Lorne sausage roll for breakfast…surely in a city where bakers do great morning rolls they can do better than ‘plastic’ rolls baked a few days previously? Come on, you’re better than that.

Unfortunately it was closed, privatised when we arrived to visit. So we could not see the house. The coffee shop was not inviting enough so we returned.

From start to finish, the team at HFAL went above and beyond to make the day as personal and as special as it should be. Our day started to run over timewise; as they are a specialist wedding venue, which comes with a dedicated wedding coordinator, their experience shone through, got the day back on track, and not one person realised, Absolute Professionals.
The food is phenomenal 🤤. You expect when cooking at such a large scale they won't be able to reproduce such high quality as they did at the tasting, but it was even better ❤️
The team were more than happy to accommodate any requests when we were planning our big day, including upgrading our drinks packages, which paired perfectly with our meal. It's a little added extra cost, but as we and some of our guests are a bit of a fussy bunch (background in hospitality, so love a good wine),upgrading the drinks package kept everyone very happy and was well worth it.

I honestly cannot put into words how perfect our wedding day was here. From the incredible location and stunning house for an art lover to the amazing staff the attention to detail was just phenomenal!
Special shout out to Bridget and Farouk who just took our vision and made it even more perfect than we imagined I cried when I saw how stunning the tables looked for our guests.
Honestly, if you are thinking of your wedding here I would without hesitation recommend this stunning venue and the absolute amazing staff.
Thanks again for everything best day of our lives!

We chose House for an Art Lover for our venue for our wedding and we have absolutely no regrets. Bridget, the Wedding Co-ordinator was fantastic at keeping us informed of what we needed to do, and helped us to arrange our meal tastings and our dance practices. Amber, the Master of Ceremonies for the day was so lovely, along with Neil and the rest of the staff made us feel so well supported, wanting for nothing and helping us to grab moments to ourselves to unwind and relax together. The meal, which was part of the package, was stunning, and everything was well prepared and delicious. Truly a fantastic venue that we would highly recommend. Every one of our guests commented on how fantastic the building and staff were, and we are eternally grateful to them for helping make our day as wonderful as it could possibly have been.

Delighted to be back at this wonderful place.
We had a really enjoyable lunch, looked after by charming and efficient staff, Roisin and Esme.
It had been three years since my last visit as I hadn’t been in Scotland.
So marvellous to be back. A part of my holiday which I will remember.

My son had his wedding and reception at House for an art lover. The staff and venue were absolutely fantastic. All involved agreed it was a beautiful venue and the staff looked after our every need perfectly. Top marks

Check their website as it does weddings also and the exhibition changes its opening times upto a week at a time. The cafe has separate opening times and is open to the public more frequent.

Sorry I can answer your question. I was leading a tour, which means the bus driver got us there, with the help of a local who served as a private guide. I bet it's really beautiful there now that summer has arrived. Enjoy!

I don't believe you can, but, as the prior commenter suggested, there's no need to. Happily, it is sufficiently off the beaten path not to attract floods of visitors. But it is a good idea to call ahead to see if the House is open since it often hosts events. Their phone number: 0141 353 4770.
