We had a great time learning to SUP. From start to finish, Scott, Dylan and Neil were super friendly and helpful. Every step of the way Scott and Dylan looked after the group, especially those like me who were lagging behind. They were so patient and had a great sense of humour. They were excellent instructors that took the safety of the group very seriously. The water was freezing and when we returned there was hot tea and coffee waiting for everyone which was greatly appreciated. We really enjoyed our time, it was great fun and would definitely recommend it for beginners.

We did kayaking and stand up paddle board on the loch. The host was great and took time to explain what we needed to do. We got well equipped with wetsuits, rain coats and life jackets. Really enjoyed our day- the views of the loch and mountains make it very memorable.

Brilliant little facility on the beach. Very friendly bunch of guys. Even when busy they’ll always have time for you. Their hard work is appreciated.

Took a SUP lesson on the loch. Absolutely loved the little tour around the loch as well as the small stream. Staff is really friendly and went through an extensive list of scenario, giving me plenty of time to ask questions and allowing me to experiment with the board (swapping boards, recovery, step back turn, ...). Then took an extra hour for paddling around on my own. Great fun! Amazing location!

I’ve seen another review that highlights and same issue as the one I experienced so I thought I would share.
Me and my partner decided to rent a canoe, we made it clear we had no experience with canoeing and they said it would be fine.
Upon getting a life vest on etc, we asked if we needed wet suits and we’re told no, we then headed to a canoe, no one offered any help to help us out but after getting to a canoe it was filled entirely with water and so there nearly all of the others too making it impossible to push out or even head out to the water.
The winds were strong and impossible to paddle anywhere, making it impossible to head out within 2 meter of the shore.
We’re we’re soaking wet!!
One- from my partner and I trying to push the heavy canoe out to the water (no one offered to help)
Two- from the strong winds.
After I grabbed the attention of a worker there, and told them it was unsafe and impossible to paddle, he agreed but then walked away from us, clearly in distress me and my partner were livid at the fact we had wasted £28 and clothes were soaking. No one offered us to change activity or even a refund! As we only spent a total of 2 minutes on the water!!!
Please do not do this activity. Unless you have a muscle of 100 men to paddle through the waves.

Great session/lesson on the paddle boards today with Scott.
Well run, good instructor, great fun and even the sun was shining. Good value for money adding on the extra hour hire at the end, (£40+£5) per adult.
Facilities were basic for getting changed, bothered my wife more than it bothered me. Change at home if you are shy!

Terrible experience, they will gladly take your money even though the conditions aren't suitable to be open! Arrived on a Monday afternoon and paid for a canoe, however as we got to the beach we could see that due to the strong wind there was no possibility of getting on to the lake. The first 10 meters of water was chock full with children/adults paddling or other users trying to venture out on SUP boards or kayaks. The wind was such that no one was able to properly get out on to the lake and they were being pushed paralel to the beach meaning you'd need to ram them to get past. Also what was worrying was watercraft being swept by the wind into people standing in the water, accident waiting to happen! We went back after failing to launch the canoe and asked for a refund and was denied. Will not be going back.

Great customer service, had a last minute Covid case in the family and so couldn’t make the bookings we had made for the few days we have in Aviemore. The guys were very helpful and dealt with the situation brilliantly. Love this place and will definitely be back. Wishing the new management and the team a good season. Cheers

Friendly team in water sports and cafe helping me with my 9 month old. Organised a kayak trip, ordered cappuccino and some ice cream.
I bought a cappuccino from the cafe and it was instant from a packet, cost £2.50. Not worth the price and not clear it was going to be instant cappuccino. It didn’t taste good.
Recommend getting a coffee machine or removing it from the menu.

Thanks to Scott for a great time. Big help to me getting to grips with paddle boarding. Made a big difference with my balance. 10/10

Can you take your own Kayak on Loch Morlich? Where is the best place to park your car and launch from ? Is there free parking too ?

I can't see that there would be anything stopping you taking your own and launching it.
The beach is the obvious point, that's where the watersports centre is but it's down one end so lots of beachfront well out of their way. You do pay for that car park.
There's other paid car parks along the loch too, though not sure how easy the water access is from those.

Hi, presume you will be in the loch at some point, even if it's just to wade out from shore at the beginning. All you really need for any of the Loch Morlich activities is a swimming costume or pair of swimming trunks - the centre provides full length wetsuit, wet boots and life jackets for all participants (included in their price for activities). They have racks of different sizes and will help you get what you need. I went on one of the hottest days of the year and still needed the full wetsuit to ensure I wasn't too cold

Can you use your own kayak/canoe etc on the lake? Do you need to let them know or do you just go for it and are there any areas you're not allowed to row to etc?
