We visited Iain Marr's Antiques at the end of our NC500 tour, we had seen it at the beginning of our trip and promised ourselves we would return. Iain and Avril are delightful, their stock is exceptional and pricing is commensurate but fair. Having toured the highlands extensively, I recommend this place as a must, there are few opportunities to see so much fine silver in such a concentration, you will not be disappointed.
I purchased a lovely silver vesta case and will treasure it and the memories it evokes. I hope to return another year and visit once again.

What can I say, an off chance visit and we end leaving with loads of stuff!!! Fantastic service from the owner and his daughter, very well looked after, I cannot recommend them enough. Great value, amazing quality..... we’ll be back very soon.

We wondered into Iain’s beautiful store having no idea what a treat we were in for or the caliber of this establishment. We were greeted and made to feel very welcome to look at all the beautiful pieces. Overwhelming how many there are in this small space. This is a must stop if you love silver pieces especially!
Iain and Drusilla made this a most memorable experience! Thank you, we will enjoy the small pieces we purchased (as well as the little extra fairy pieces) and your gracious hospitality will be remembered!

Both Mr. Marr and the female shopkeeper were very knowledgeable about their wares. They answered any questions we had about pieces, and we found several pieces to take home with us. They offered tea and coffee as we browsed. We were not disappointed!

Silver silver and more silver. Could change their name to long John but not a pirate here. Mostly antique silver items but also glass. Paintings. In fact anything unusual and aged.

Popped in past this little treasure of a shop at the weekend looking for a last minute gift. The owner, Mr Marr was a true gent and guided me around his wonderful collection of silverware with coffees and a smile supplied by his wonderful assistant. With a deep knowledge of antiques and silver I managed to find the perfect gift for a family member and will definitely return the next time I'm looking for inspirational purchases.

Visited on a weekend away....looking to buy some silver....very over priced and female shop assistant seemed unhelpful....will not be visiting agsin!

Dear Michelle, I am sorry that your visit to our shop was not as you expected. We have had our shop now for 47 years and have built up a large client base of returning, happy customers. As we buy privately, we give the highest prices to attract good stock and so cannot sell at a low price or offer discount except to our regular clients. I would however, very much like to have the opportunity of meeting you or speaking with you with a view to discussing your experience. My best regards, Iain

What a wonderful shop. A dazzling array of silver, crystal, porcelain, paintings and other assorted treasures. This is a truly magical place if you have any interest in antiques.
Ian is a mine of information and anecdotes. He is always generous with his knowledge and is a great raconteur. A visit to his shop is always rewarding.

This fine antique shop is run by an absolute gentleman, Mr Iain Marr. I had visited the shop once previously about four years ago and found several items which I purchased. I called Mr Marr in advance and he agreed to open earlier than his normal 10.30am as it was more convenient for me. Mr Marr has an excellent knowledge of silver and especially Scottish silver. He provides some refreshments if your a serious collector who needs to sit down a peruse the stock. He has the finest silver.
I called when I arrived in Saturday evening and Mr Marr so kindly offered to open on Sunday if I preferred, which I did. We had a relaxing time looking through his Scottish Provincial Silver and I found a few nice pieces to buy. So kind is Mr Marr that we took lunch together - even on a Sunday. Mr Marr is certainly a proprietor who goes that extra mile for his customers. A very big thank you.

Iain's knowledge of sterling silver and his credibility are unmatched. He knows and shares so much knowledge that we leave appreciating our purchases as being more than an antique. Iain really is a treat and an enthusiastic Scotsman. He and his daughter are as much hosts and educators as they are proprietors. We visit every year and leave knowing we will do so next year.
