For a stag do we hired canoes from Donald and paddled the Spey. All of the communication and organising was simple and easy.
He picked us up, dropped us at the river and then picked us up from the river mouth at the end. All of the equipment we hired was perfect for the trip, and he even transported one of our own canoes along with the ones we had hired.
As for the river Spey, it was a fantastic adventure, perfect combination of steady, easy flowing river and fast exciting rapids. Lots of beautiful camp spots all the way down too. Would recommend to anyone:)

My husband and I booked a canoeing trip on Loch Ness. The weather that day was very windy but we were in great hands with Donald. With his knowledge and experience, he patiently and safely guided us up the Loch. He taught us a lot about paddling on the water, the history of Nessie, and the area.
This will be a trip that we will never forget! The Loch and water were gorgeous!

A very well organised trip for 10 of us. We had mixed amounts of canoeing experience but Donald gave good instructions and we got on fine. Nothing difficult on the river. Lots of information from Donald and generally a very good afternoon. Saw Ospreys, buzzards, red kites and swallows. The gorge can't be seen from the road so it was fantastic to be down in it. I'd thoroughly recommend this trip.

I went for a beginners paddle boarding session by myself. I was slightly anxious about going solo but needn't have been, Donald was friendly and approachable and the other people also doing the class were friendly. The session was good fun and though we didn't go a huge distance we had lots of time out on the water.
I had a wonderful time and felt really well educated on the health and safety surrounding paddle boarding. Donald is very generous with his knowledge, experience and time. After the beginners session I felt like I would be able to safely do some more SUP by myself. I would love to do more paddleboard sessions and gain more experience.

We hired canoes and kit from EH for our Spey river trip
We had the canoes dropped off at the start and picked up with ourselves and taken back to our vehicle at the end
The Service was first class and Donald is a great Bloke .
I will definitely use them again for my next canoeing trip to Beautiful Scotland

We have spent great morning as a family on our kayaking short trip. Area is beautiful, perfectly made for the kayaking. Weather was challenging and we did not get to Loch Ness open waters, but it was still a lot of fun. We felt safe in hands of Donald, going against a bit stronger winds we had that day. We have some experience in river/sea kayaks l, but we have never had so much good instruction and tips on our techniques like we got from Donald.

We booked the tandam kayak on Loch Ness and had a great afternoon out.
Donald was incredibly patient with us and there was a good balance between instruction and letting us get on with it. We were very lucky with the weather and we were delighted with the photos Donald took of us all which were passed onto us promptly.
A fantastic experience for us and all and even the moody teenager was impressed! Hope to be able to return again soon

We had a beginner stand up paddle boarding session with Explore highland to celebrate my birthday at the start of September and we absolutely loved it.
Donald’s coaching style is extremely friendly and he takes the time to make sure you all understand the instructions. His guidance is clear and concise and allows you to build your confidence really quickly.
I loved it and I wouldn’t hesitate to book again.

I did the beginners paddle board session in July, great session led by Donald who is very knowledgeable and patient. Learnt so much and thoroughly enjoyed it....so much so I returned in August with my son for a further session. Highly recommend and plan to return for one of his kayak and/or paddleboard trips.

Hi James,
Not sure which canoeing trip you are interested in. If under 12 years old, I recommend the 4 hour/half day trips. Any longer they may find it a little too long and tire. Happy to take kids (accompanied with parents) out from 5-17 years old. This includes Paddle Loch Ness and Paddle Aigas Gorge trips. All details of each and limits online. Please email me direct through the website for more specific trip details.
