I can not express the wonderful 2 day tour we had with Peter. He has a wealth of knowledge on the history of Fort William Scotland all the way up to Isle of Skye!
Peter has the greatest sense of humour as well! The lil spots we stopped for a bite to eat were soo perfect. !
Peter took us to so many different Castles that we would have not seen in a tour bus!
He stops at the most gorgeous spots!
I would highly recommend you book Mr. MacGilliveray early proir to your trip!!

Our tour started from our B&B where Peter picked us up and continued to Oban, Inveraray and Glencoe. Peter was an exceptional guide and it was a pleasure learning from him about the deep history and of the Scottish clans / lands. This tour was our intro to our first time in the Scotland and the Scottish Highlands. There is still so much to see, do and learn that we are already wanting to come back. Thank you Peter for such a memorable day, the berry picking class and for the good hearted jokes that we still chuckle about today.

Our family was biking around Scotland but wanted to see the Isle of Skye and found these reviews of Peter and his tours online. He picked us up at our guest house and spent the day with us and we really enjoyed our time.

We did a 1-day tour from Fort William to Skye. This is a lot of beautiful area, history and culture to cover in one day. Peter picked us and another couple up at our guest house. Peter is a very safe driver who knows which roads to take to efficiently cover the sights. You see and hear about a lot more than the Isle of Skye. Be sure to take the tour of Eilean Donan Castle. This is not a castle ruin but a recently restored treasure. Peter is passionate about sharing his love of all things Scottish. It was a treat to spend the day getting just an introduction to the Isle of Skye. Skye deserves a longer visit next time!

Our visit to Scotland was highlighted by our day tour of Skye with Peter. His tour left us with a deeper understaning of Scottish history, traditions and values. Upon meeting him he was very personable and we were immediately at ease, his car was very clean, he was an excellent driver, and timed everything perfectly. The Scottish landscape is stunning, but Peter added a different level of beauty to our whole trip experience by simply being a wonderful person to spend a day with. Any subject we brought up he was adept to talk about, and he is a fantastic storyteller! We have been on tripadvisor highly rated guided tours, none of the group tours have left me with a better impression of the history of culture as much as Peter’s tour did.

What a most wonderful day with Peter to Mallaig. We all thoroughly enjoyed our trip on the west coast. We had some great laughs and came home with a new knowledge of the history around the lochaber area. Well researched and presented Mr Macgillivray. Would highly recommend your trips to all and sundry. Thank you again.

Do not hesitate to hire Peter as a guide! You could not see all of this if you decided to drive yourselves and you won’t be stuck on a crowded coach tour. He knows exactly where to take you and what to show you because his knowledge of the area is vast. Peter is very professional but adds the human touch of kindness, laughter, and great stories. His car is very roomy, comfortable, and clean. Despite having awfully wet and foggy weather that day, we saw so much and still very much enjoyed it! At our request, he even made an extra stop at the end to visit the highland cows we wanted so badly to see. He even got out and fed them with us. We had such a great day! Peter is an amazing guide and a great person! Check out the different tours he does and contact him soon with your interest as he tends to book up quickly! Thank you again Peter for such a wonderful day, filling our minds with so much history of the area and county as a whole, and great conversations!

Peter came and collected us at our guesthouse in Fort William and we had a great tour to the Isle of Sky with him. He told us much about Scottish history and culture and showed us places of great interest. We really recommend him.

We had a great tour of Skye from Fort William -- with a number of stops along the way. Peter makes it easy -- a roomy car, great sense of humour and a great knowledge of the history of the area and Scotland as a whole. It was a full day tour (started at 8am and we didn't return until 6:30pm, but you can tailor things to your liking.
The conversation ranged, from clan history, to the potato blight, to brexit, to motorbikes, to rock and roll. As others have said in their reviews, you really can't go wrong here. He's extremely professional in every way. 5 stars without hesitation!

We had 3 great days with Peter as our tour guide. Peter made us appreciate Scotland's scenery & history. He was just so much more than facts & figures. We could just relax & enjoy it all in his most comfortable vehicle. We loved the Isle of Skye & will go back again on another trip to Scotland. We highly recommend Peter, you couldn't ask for a better guide, he was so informative. After our 3 days together, it felt as though we had known each other for years!!! Peter has a great sense of humour, I think he needed it with my husband Martin LOL. Shealagh & Martin Qld Australia

My 2 friends will be in Fort William from the 13 September and would love to see some sights before returning to Edinburgh for the flight home on the 15 September.
Do you have time? Or can recommend anyone? They are germans but do speak a little english.

The Clan Macdonald were such a large powerfull clan that they became The lord of Isles, especially on the west coast of Scotland. To appreciate the clan history you really have to visit the Clan Donald visitor centre on the Isle of Skye.

Hi - I went into Tripadvisor and typed One Day Tours Scotland and was able to read about him that way. The previous advice of inserting Fort William in your description sounds even better. Good luck to you and hope you can schedule it soon.

Thank you Wendy S. I was able to contact him, but have still not heard back. We are picking up a car in Edinburgh upon arrival but may rethink the car thing if a train is a better way to go.
