We went here to do some geocaching and see the old ruins of the castle. We took some really nice photos and found some cool geocaches. The area is great for a picnic, and has a big park for kids. Lots of parking and since we were staying in Irvine it was nice and close!

First time going here, went with my sister and my 5 month old baby so had him in the pram.
The paths are good for prams, but some areas are bumpy or too muddy.
The park is beautiful and you can do plenty of walking there.
We went for lunch and it was nice, the only downside was the server seemed to have a bit of an attitude when she got my sister's order wrong. However, that won't stop me from returning. I got a coffee to go as well - much needed as a first time mum - which was lovely.
The parking area is very uneven so be careful when parking.

We enjoyed exploring Here, definitely somewhere you could spend a full day but we just stayed a few hours as we got very wet. The paths are easily accessible for buggies though understandably muddy in places. The children loved exploring and we liked the wide paths that meant we could see them when they ran ahead. We didn’t get to go in the playground as the kids were too tired. Toilets clean and tidy.

Fantastic for young & old! Absolutely stunning grounds with miles of miles of beautiful scenery there’s always something to see or do it’s fantastic for waking your dogs or simply fishing in there lake (you must have a permit for this) but I’ve been coming for over 25 years and I’m still finding new routes to explore with the kids and dogs.

Nice place even on a cold day 👍
Was 4 degrees but still a fair few folk out, some with dogs and horses.
It's a big park and great for walking.
The cafe is open in winter to 3.30pm and does a good coffee ☕

A lovely country park with plenty of walks, a well equipped children's play area and pretty courtyard with seating areas....sadly however the whole experience was marred by the appalling "barbecue chicken pannini" the pannini was not Italian bread but a doughy long white roll and was not properly toasted, the worst bit was the reconstituted rubber chicken pieces with a red barbecue sauce on top.........we ate one half as we were hungry and the rest went in the bin. Coffees were fine but I'd hate to be there when it's busy as service was not the fastest. So my advice would be to certainly visit the estate, but maybe try something else from the cafe........or bring a picnic

Found this great location by pure chance whilst out a drive with the family, it popped up on our sat nav and it sounded exactly the kind of place we were looking for to have our family picnic. We explored a fair portion of the park on foot, really nice scenery and little adventure trails though the woods etc was exciting for the kids. There's a really good sized play park and a smaller one for toddlers. Didn't see to much in the way of catering facilities although that's not to say there wasn't any, we just didn't see any. I'd imagine an ice cream/snack van would make an absolute fortune on site. Parking was free which was excellent. The speedbumps into the park are pretty large so beware any modified car owners lol. Really enjoyed our day out and only a 5 minute drive away from Irvine beach for an ice cream afterwards. Will definitely return.

Lovely first time visit to Eglinton Country Park today.
The park is huge with various trails that can be followed, or you can just wander freely.
My dog loved it, was lovely to see everyone was enjoying the park in their own way from kids to dog walkers and we even saw folk with horses there.
Cafe and toilets open, plenty of parking.
Would recommend the park to all

Love this place. Lots of interesting, lovely walks. Reasonable priced cafe has sandwiches, lots of lovely cakes and ice cream. Definitely worth a visit.

Yes dogs are welcome. Just remember there are no bad dogs just bad owners. Common sense tells you to keep your dog on a lead when you see other dogs approaching.I
And if you go a certain times of the day it's quieter.
But I always try to keep my dogs well under control especially if there are young children about.
