The team at Mary’s Meanders are exceptional.
Six Australian women (The Sunshine Shiela’s) had the time of our lives, as we were guided through Scotland on our long awaited Outlander tour.
Emma and Paul were the ultimate professionals as they showed us the delights of this beautiful country. Every detail was well thought out and executed and delivered with a smile and a belly laugh.
We shall never forget the time we shared and hope that one day we shall meet again.
Chanel forever.

Totally immersive week with full days visiting as many of the sights used for filming 'Outlander' as it's possible to pack into five days, some of them by special arrangement, so not open to the general public, and many Scottish experiences on the way. Your fellow travelers are like-minded folk and there is always a topic of conversation between you, not that it's much needed, your tour guides are adept at bringing people together, Ann is very knowledgeable and competent, Paul is the epitome of Scottish charm and Emma is a bit of a nutter!

Emma, Anne and Dave are amazing. We had so much fun together with the group. The cottage was super nice.
If you are a fan of Outlander, this tour is for you. I accompagnied my mum so for me, it was too focused on Outlander. We had a suprised Whiskey tour and it was great.
To improve: not a surprise as I complained about it during the tour :)
To my opinion, we could visit more Scotland in addition to Outlander sites if diner were planned later (between 5.30 and 6.30pm). it was a bit of a rush and the entertainements planned were at the cottage which I didn't expect. The price was then quite high for days finishing that early.
Otherwise, it was a great experience with amazing guides, without forgetting the driver who is verz nice and kind!
The group was the cherry on the cake! :)

At the end of April my daughter, sister and I enjoyed the BEST Mary Queen of Scots tour with Ann! It was our first full day in the UK and Ann provided a fascinating picture of Scotland's history. She is passionate about this topic and so very personable. We had other tours during our trip and Ann's was by far our favorite -- she set the bar high! We highly recommend any tour with Ann, especially Mary Queen of Scots!

After first booking in 2020 then having to cancel -(twice) thanks to covid, my mum & I finally made it!
What a fantastic week it was & worth the wait. Emma, Anne we just wonderful, so helpful, kind & nothing ever too much trouble especially with my mum while we’re out on excursions. Paul our driver was fabulous and made sure we got to our destinations safely. Our group was a wonderful group of ladies & we have all left as friends.
I am so glad I came across Mary’s Meanders, they are a great team of guides with so much knowledge of Scottish history. We never found Jamie but that’s ok, we found each other!
Thank you Mary’s Meanders for a trip we won’t forget!

What can I say? Mary's Meanders Tours is the Crème de la crème (see what Indid there, Aurel and Natalie? ;-)) Anne and Emma, our amazing and knowledgeable hosts, were incredible and oh SO much fun. Each day was a fabulous itinerary of great experiences, history, and food. Plus, the friends we made during this tour...unforgettable. Our hosts went above and beyond, including Emma taking the time to buy me a new suitcase for treasures I bought on my journey. We were even treated with a visit from Gillebrìde (Gaelic singer in Outlander) who sang us Gaelic songs and a Piper (Graeme, who is the Manager of Blackness Castle) who greated us at the cottages as we returned from a day of touring.
They also partner and support top knotch businesses to complement their tour package.
Williamscraig Holiday Cottages...TOP OF THE LINE. Complete with kitchens, hot tubs, laundry, and very comfortable beds. Great for families. Surrounded by beautiful scenery with sheep and ducks.
Paul, proprietor of Tayforth Travel, is warm, humourous, and the utmost gentleman drove us everywhere with great care in a beautiful van. He was part of our tribe.
Then there is Dave who was our guide for a day and took us to Culross (my personal favorite village), Falkland, and the Kelpies. Dave knows his history and I will always remember his Scottish humor and energy. He's quite the outdoorsman and a terrific guide!
To sum it up, I couldn't imagine a great tour, and team, to join as the best introduction to Scotland. It's convinced me that I need more time in amazing Scotland and am in the planning stages of returning September l, 2024 with my husband for a vow renewal and handfast, for starters!!
I MISS EVERYONE!!! THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH FOR THE MAGICAL MEMORIES!!

I just came back from a fantastic week with Mary's Meanders Scotland tour. Emma, Ann, Paul and Dave were exceptional hosts and tour guides. Every day was packed with exciting and informative historical tours and delicious food. Our accommodations at the cottages of Williamscraig were outstanding. I could not have asked for a better introduction to Scotland!

Today I did a heritage tour with Anne from Mary Meanders Scottish Tours and it was fantastic! Got to tour the church where my 6th great grandfather was Reverend Minister, and tour the areas where they had lived, a great tour and great experience!

In November 2022, my husband and I had an ancestral tour. We spent a day visiting cemeteries where long lost ancestors were buried. A second day we went to Carnostie Golf Course/Club. My husband's great uncle, David Fearn, was an apprentice to the golf club maker and was considered an up and coming champion golfer. Unfortunately, he died in WWI. However, his name appears on the memorial plaque at Carnostie since he was once of 18 young men associated with the club who died in WWI.
The tour with Ann and Paul was excellent--we came away feeling that we knew the area in which my husband's ancestors lived. Excellent trip!

We scheduled a tour with Mary’s Meanders Tours and Anne was our guide for the day. Anne was so kind and accommodating, and by the end of the day we felt like we had known her for years! She is very knowledgeable and made sure we saw as much as we possibly could during the time we were together. The coach was very comfortable and our driver was fantastic! We thoroughly enjoyed our tour and hope to visit again one day soon. Thank you, Anne, for your generous hospitality!

We spent 9 hours with her and that included a lunch stop at a charming out-of-the-way pub.. There were just two of us with her that day and at each stop we had plenty of time to walk around, explore, take photos and ask questions. She is such a marvelous resource on Scotland's history and knows every detail of the Outlander books, too. I am only sorry that we could not spend another day with her.

Hi there, thanks for getting in touch. We use a Citroen Grand Picasso which you can see on our website in the Blog section or via the link on our Facebook page.
We generally have 4 or 5 on a tour but some days may have up to 8. In that case we use a mini bus to make sure everyone is still comfortable!
