After driving hours to visit, we found that this gallery had closed in October 2017. The signage at An Chuirt still shows the gallery name, however, as do various Donegal tourism promotions.

We wanted to visit and shop here in order to support local artists, but mid-morning on a weekday almost all the shops were closed, and the place had a forlorn abandoned look about it. It _seemed_ as tho' shops had larger artwork in glass or stone, nothing small an overseas traveller could fit to take home, but that was only a perception from outside those places with large windows.

Some quality craft here, but some of the shops were closed and some were vacant, so the variety was limited. There was glass, weaving, silver (closed) and wood while we were there.

I was only in Gweedore for 2 nights but visited this wonderful art and craft gallery 3 times and would be happy to travel to Gweedore just to visit it again. There is a great range of originals, prints, ceramics, jewellery, turned wood, glass etc for sale and the price range is excellent and very affordable. The location is stunning, looking out towards Errigal mountain and the glen. This tranquil spot is ideal for spending time in the gallery, which has a very tranquil atmosphere itself. It is spacious and affords lots of room to browse and discover some brilliant art. Even after 3 visits, I think I did not see everything for long enough. At first glance there does not appear to be much to see but once in the body of the gallery there is a world of art and craft to drool over! The owners (whose names I don't know...yet!) are very friendly, cheerful and very welcoming. From what I can gather, they often have the artists visiting the gallery to demonstrate their skill in special sessions. This is a place I would urge you to visit. Call in and see for yourself.
