I attended the Indian BBQ class with some of my friends on Saturday last.
We arrived at 9:45am greeted by Gerry and his team and freshly brewed coffee and baked cookies.
At 10am we moved to the demonstration kitchen, where Cindy and Gerry delivered the course with enthusiasm, interaction and engagement. There is a great mix of demonstration and moving into the kitchens where we can put into practice the stuff we'd just learned.
In the yard, there were grills and smokers set up and Gerry talked us through the principles of the BBQ, the methods of direct and offset cooking, the difference between different types of charcoal and lumpwood and briquettes.
Throughout the day the mix of demonstration and practice is so well structured that the day just whizzes by and there's never a sense of any element of the day dragging on. Add to that the fact you get to eat what you make and there's plenty of it!
The day wrapped up around 4pm and everyone in attendance was well-fed and armed with knowledge and techniques we didn't have before. It's already been put into practice by some of us!
Special mention to the brigade working in the background - while we're in the demo kitchen, they're in the practice kitchen setting everything up, ensuring we had all the equipment we needed, when we needed it, all the ingredients prepped and measured out and then hovering around us to answer any questions and (most importantly) clearing away the stuff we'd used, cleaning and getting ready for the next block of practice!
The Cookery school offers all sorts of classes - my wife booked in for the the Italian Cuisine class later this year and there's even classes for kids during school holidays. I'd strongly recommend it to anyone.

Wonderful experience. Gerry and his staff were amazing and very relaxed. Learnt a lot within the short time frame and the food was amazing. Great craic and fun filled day. Would recommend this experience to anyone.

This was so much fun and so educational. I like cooking but this puts structure and simplicity into your cooking. And you eat what you cook. I can’t rate this highly enough.

We had an amazing half day event in The Dublin Cookery School. It was planned very last minute and the team especially Sally there could not have been more amazing in helping us. The day itself was fab. We are all planning to buy the pasta machine. Grainne was so great at explaining everything. The team helping on the day were just fantastic. Highly recommend coming here.

I’ve done quite a few 1 day courses through Dublin Cookery School and cannot sing their praises loud enough! Each course has been a culinary festival of flavours. I’ve loved every class I have attended; all the staff and chefs are just wonderful and so knowledgeable. The environment is so warm and welcoming and it’s a great relaxed atmosphere to learn new techniques and cuisines, and the best is getting to feast on what we’ve cooked after. Highly recommend.

I attended the 5-day 'Become a Better Cook' course in Dublin Cookery School (DCS) last month. I admit to having been somewhat apprehensive on Day 1 as I'm a very occasional cook but Gráinne & Gerry's teaching style was so instructive and easy-to-follow that I had grown in confidence by Day 5. I learned so much in the week about food preparation, chopping skills and organising oneself in the kitchen as well as preparing so many new and delicious dishes. I couldn't recommend this course and DCS highly enough. I'll definitely be back for more in the new year.

We went to the Dublin Cookery School for an evening team Culinary Corporate Events with work colleagues. We had a wonderful time, the team at DCS walked us through all the steps to making a delightful dinner, we were then set to task to reproduce the meal, which turned out a treat. If you've any doubt in mind about booking a class/event here, don't be concerned, you'll have a great time, the DCS team are outstanding. Well done and thanks all.

It was absolutely enjoyable experience with my colleagues from my work. The staff were all engaging and welcoming. I never thought going to a cookery school for a work social night but it was a great idea to learn something in a very relaxed manner and the competition provided a great opportunity to work as a team. Highly recommended!

I booked a cookery course for my brother who is autistic and has some learning difficulties. He attended an evening group course where he worked with a partner to prepare a whole range of Mexican food. He was nervous about attending so we contacted one of the chef's there - Gerry - who invited him to visit the school beforehand to put him at his ease. On the night of the event, he was asked to come early to settle himself in. We were delighted to hear afterwards that he had had a fantastic evening and made delicious food. We are so grateful to the school for working with us to make sure he had fun using his birthday voucher.

I'm just home from a Gourmet Pizza Masterclass here, and I am very impressed. Alternating between demos and practicals, we each made AND ATE three pizzas (Turkish pide with minced lamb and harissa, white pizza with ricotta, and a classic margarita) as well as observing the making of parmesan and garlic fonduta; sourdough pizza dough; and almond, mint and basil pesto. Super-helpful chefs and staff ready to discuss the finer points and answer all questions. The course was well prepared so that there was no standing around waiting, and the place is super-clean. I learned a whole lot and brought home a ball of pizza dough ready to be used tomorrow. A special mention for Antonio the chef from Madrid for being particularly helpful and supportive.
