We took this walking tour the morning we arrived in Dublin from the US. As tired as I was, I initially feared I might fall asleep while walking. But no way!! Lorcan is an extremely knowledgeable and genial guide. He was so thoroughly entertaining I forgot how tired I was. Don’t hesitate to take this tour if you’d like to learn something about modern Irish history from an expert teacher.

Despite being one of the hottest days of the year our guide Tom kept us engaged and interested throughout the walk. He actively encouraged questions and he was very knowledgeable. He also had a great sense of humour. I liked the Gentleman’s Walk part because Tom set the scene so well i could imagine how it was very easily.

Our guide for the tour on 16th July was Domhnaill. His passion & exuberance for the subject in question was a breath of fresh air. Being Irish, we've always been interested in our history & the 1916 rising against the British was a monumental event in Ireland's past. The tour was not what we had expected in the sense that it covered the backgrounds of some of the main characters & how they used their worldwide connections to enable the rebellion to occur. I particularly loved the story of Pearse's sword required for the inevitable surrender!
Surely this tour must be a high on the priority list for anyone visiting Dublin.

Had a wonderful time learning about the events of the 1916 Uprising. Lorcan was an amazing raconteur and kept everyone engaged and entertained. What a great way to learn about Irish history! This tour is not to be missed! my husband and i can't thank Lorcan enough for making the events of the 1916 rebellion come alive.

Very entertaining and informative. Locran brought to life the true struggles of the Irish and the strength of the men and women of Ireland to overcome and rise above for their freedom. Locran has an amazing quick wit. The 2 hours flew by. We could have listened to him all day.

Such a fantastic tour and great way to see Dublin through the Historian eye!! Lorcan was so informative and knowledgable adding comedy to the tour keeping everyone entertained! Definitely recommend!

I could not recommend this walking tour more. The detailed knowledge of our guide - Rory - was phenomenal and the presentation lively making the events of over a hundred years ago real. If you want to know more about this period of Irish (and British) history this is a must do.

We enjoyed an insightful stroll through Dublin streets with Lorcan and appreciated learning about Ireland’s struggle for independence. A great way to spend a few hours. Dave & Lou Australia

Lorcan takes the tour and expresses his deep knowledge and passion for this era and time. It covers the Easter rising, the fighting independence and the resultant civil war. Top marks and definitely worth it.

Great walking tour and lots of historical information. We live abroad but were born and raised in Dublin, so it was great to learn more than we learned in the history books so many years before. Lots of walking but it gives you a good feel for the city and how far away the locations were during the Rising. Well worth the time and was good for our teenagers too.
