Just completed the 1 day Sourdough course with Master Baker Robbie and it was superb. Such a professional set up and very interactive with our tutor guiding us through the process step by step to produce amazing breads at the end of the day....which barely survived the drive home! The location is perfect, easy to find and the kitchen set up is very conducive to learning. I've attended bread courses in other professional schools also and this is the best I've done. Thanks Derek, Robbie and team....a brilliant day!

Bread is the food of life that I have always enjoyed - when I could get it!
Bread is a simple food made from Flour, Water, Salt and Yeast - yet modern “bread” in supermarkets and bakeries contain a lengthy list of ingredients but zero flavour and they all have that same gooey texture and my family just don’t eat it.
I decided to learn to bake my own bread and watched 100’s of videos on YouTube, read numerous tutorials and bought several of books on bread baking but I still couldn’t bake proper bread and I couldn’t figure out why.
Then I came across The Baking Academy of Ireland. I signed up for their one day course called “Real Bread Baking - Traditional Household Bread” exactly what I want to make.
The course was a hands-on full day, conducted by a Master Baker who not only demonstrated how to make each of four Breads we made during the day but also gave us a fascinating, potted history of baking and bread making through the ages.
After each demonstration we were dispatched to individual workspaces to recreate what we had been shown with the help of very clear, simple recipes and step-by-step instructions in the course booklet that we all received on arrival.
This hands-on approach was what I had been missing in my earlier attempts to learn how to bake bread. The format of the course made it so easy to learn the correct techniques because a Master Baker was there showing you exactly how to do it.
I can now make and bake Real Bread you can eat and it’s delicious, flavourful, soft and wonderful.
The real bread I learned to make is so simple to do when you learn and follow simple rules and use simple ingredients at The Baking Academy of Ireland.
There are no complicated ingredients, just Strong Flour, Yeast, a little Butter, Water and Salt.
There’s no special equipment needed either, a kitchen scales, a digital thermometer, a plastic mixing bowl, a loaf baking tin and a working oven and a pair of willing hands - Simples!
Best of all it takes very little actual work. 90% of the work of making real bread is done by the Yeast and your oven while you relax or get on with other things.
Go learn how to make bread - it’s a skill that will surprise and thrill you and you’ll use it all your life as well as passing it on to your children and grandchildren.
I absolutely and proudly recommend The Baking Academy of Ireland as the place to go to learn baking skills.

I had an amazing time at the Baking Academy of Ireland, taking their Real Bread Baking- Traditional Bread course! The class was so interesting, and made making real bread easy. Derek was so knowledgeable and kind, and made sure everyone was comfortable. I can not recommend this course enough.

The course on chocolate desserts was very enjoyable and the staff was really great and friendly. Everything was clearly demonstrated and explained before everyone was allowed to try hands on. the best thing is that, together with recipes and experience, one has the opportunity to bring home all the fruits of the day's work (which was a real bonus). Great environment for beginners and a bit more experienced home baker enthusiasts.

This was a very enjoyable course from beginning to end. Staff were very pleasant and helpful .... made some lovely cakes to take home with me.
I highly recommend this course and will book more courses with the Academy.

We are delighted to learn that you had an enjoyable ad productive day with us on our Party Cake baking course. As you now know our staff are all professional bakers (not chefs) and they have an in-dept understanding of the technology of baking and are really very good at communicating their knowledge and skills to the student.

A really enjoyable learning experience. Excellent instruction and everyone makes their own bread and takes it home. This is not a relaxing day, it's full on work from the time you arrive to the time you leave.

I did a one day Breadmaking course here (a gift from my wife). It was a fantastic day. Everything was explained so well as we were guided through making our own breads on the day. We also got plenty of insights into the history of Breadmaking. All of the staff were just superb. A highly recommended experience.

Patient and encouraging tutors, fun and friendly atmosphere, great tips and tricks for doing your own creations. A great lunch of freshly baked treats was also provided, fab few days out

Can anyone that's done the Cert A Baking Certificate tell me how they found it? What you learned? I just booked the first one and don't know wether to book B since there's a sale on right now.
