Historical.
Boggy..walk
We walked on the stream to guide us.
Cross 3 mini bridges .
Make sure you have good boots

Careful with parking as well.
There is no assigned parking spot

an Irish mystery tour

The mystery is: did Queen Scota ever exist or come to Ireland? Myth merges into reality here. The so-called tomb is hard to find unless you meet a local walking a dog who can guide you. Walking boots needed. Good luck and mind the midges! It was supposedly an IRA hideout from the Tans way back.

An Amazing Spot for a Ghost Story

I've been camping here for a number of years, I was introduced first as a Scout, and I will never forget the Story of Scotia that he spun. Beautiful Location, but on a Practical Note, bring Bug Spray.

Scotia, the forgotten Princess of Egypt

I have been visiting Scotia's grave for years. It is not a tourist trial so wear good boots and avoid over hanging branches. This place is the burial grounds of a Princess whose sons went on to take over ruling Ireland. She was the daughter of the pharaoh Akenhaten whose beliefs went on to shape Christianity's monotheism. The hymn to Aten is remarkably like Christian prayers. The archaeologist Lorraine Evans has written about the journey of Scotia to Ireland in Lost Kngdom of the Ark. The Irish government have never allowed her grave to be escavated, even though Scotia is the half sister of the pharaoh Tutenkamun. Worth a visit if you are interested in Irish mythology. There is more to this place than meets the eye. It is more of a feeling and the setting is very mystical.
