The Friary is located in the heart of Derby city centre and is a large bar which offers a full food menu, drinks, live sports and pool tables. The food here is just bang average cheap bar food really and the beers are very expensive. The pool area is seriously expensive at £1.50 a game and the smoking area is large but combined woth popworld so you get the usual riff raff mingling with you. Overall for watching a game of football eotj some light bar snacks and a few beer it isn't bad but it just is what it is, poor - average.

Good place to hang out

Friary, with its good location is a good place to hang out with your friends; however, the food sometimes would be burnt, the smoking area seats and cushions are disgustingly filthy (doubt whether they changed in the last three years I've been a student in Derby).

Good prices.

Still, I'd dare say it's better than most pubs in Derby centre.

What bar doesn’t serve ice??? Staff were miserable atmosphere was shocking and the smell was revolting! Toilets had no toilet paper and the fusty smell followed you round! Will not be making an appearance in there again

Love it here. Especially on burger night on Tuesday. Great value. This place is always good on the weekend too. Good prices.
