I visited Deda for the first time in a few years to watch Old Kent Road perform their tap show “Oscillate.” It was a fabulous production with amazing intricate choreography. The dancers were fantastic and not a beat was out of place. The rhythms were incredible and it was a very emotive performance.
The venue itself was very friendly and inviting, it was clean and well presented and the staff were lovely. I will definitely be making more regular visits. Thank you for a great experience.

On a Friday afternoon I went to a children's dance class with my niece. The class was expeptional. The teacher created a inclusive, creative class that I would recommend to anyone.
What I will not recommend is eating in the cafe. After ordering a Veggie sausage and egg cob we waited about 30 minutes for it to arrive. A little while but no rush. However it arrived wrong meaning another at least 15 minute wait for them to add an egg.
When this then arrived I was extremely disappointed with for what we had paid. Around £5 for one egg and one sausage. It's like they had cut one egg cob and one sausage and gave us that.
I chose to eat there because it is helping to fund a fantastic service that I really enjoyed. But that poor customer service is what sticks out now not the wonderful show.
So to not be disappointed, visit for the shows and classes but go elsewhere for food after.

Easy to get to in central derby, with plenty of musical variety scheduled to keep fans happy. We attended last night to see Oobleck, a 7 piece cross over group and had a thoroughly enjoyable evening. Limited space as it was staged in the cafe/bar area, and was a sell out. I am having difficulty with my mobility at the moment, but nothing was too much trouble for the staff. with easy access automated doors, level floors (No steps), fully accessible disability toilet on the ground floor - top marks for all ability access. Sorry but i have taken off a point as the venue was cold, not just me, but most people kept their coats and scarfs on. Great atmosphere, please bring Oobleck back again, and host them in the main theatre.

I have just returned from one of the most disappointing dance classes ever. To start with I was informed on arrival that this was the last week as the class had not been well supported. It was my first visit and I was with my 20 year old daughter. We were not offered a refund as we would be unable to come to the class again. The class had 4 members. The teacher had no personality to gee up the group and the dance mix was nothing like advertised. The routines were poorly constructed and not taught, remember half the class were new. Steps were off the beat and the music mix was unusual to say the least, 'all that jazz', 'low' and other pe lesson stuff. Really disappointed and have unfortunately been put off going back to deda.

Our 4 year old goes to the ballet kids class and she really enjoys it. The children perform in a show at the end of the year in the venue's small theatre and my little girl loved it, the teachers are great with the children. There was no request to purchase expensive costumes and the shows only feature 3 classes so they don't have to be backstage all day.
We also went to see a performance of Dogs Don't Do Ballet performed by Blunderbus Theatre Company and once again, the small, intimate theatre was perfect. A great introduction to dance performance for kids.

Our young daughter attends these frequently and really enjoys them; staff are friendly, approachable and qualified. Lesson fees are very good value for money.
Our daughter will be attending her very first 'fun day' at Deda during the Easter 2017 holiday so I will review that after the 12th April, so watch this space :-)

My husband and I decided to do dancing as our time actvity. The day we wanted to go there was rock and roll with swing classes on. We decided to go and haven't looked back. The teacher is fantastic and has a great way with her students. She needs it with my husband and my bad dancing. She takes great time showing you the steps one on one. We are definitely improving and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to learn to dance. It is only £5 a class for 45 minutes of pure fun.

I come here with both of my children it's brilliant for building confidence. Staff are always helpful when it comes to individual needs. Classes are very reasonable and the cafe is always a nice place to sit and wait. Although on Saturdays it's very hard to get a seat.

I went to a 2FacedDance show at the Deda on and absolutely loved it! We were then informed about a three day residency that was going on the next week with a few of the 2Faced dancers at the Deda. It was a wonderful experience and everyone at the Deda and the Deda itself was lovely! Would definitely recommend going for shows/workshops/residencies/etc.
