Amazing walk around Tilgate Lake. So peaceful and quiet too. Mainly saw Dog walkers and runners. The Council Team do a great job keeping the park clean and tidy. Always good to veer off the main walkways as you find places like the Peace Garden.

My wife and I visited the Zoo after walking around the park. I was appalled with the condition in which the Andean Condors were kept. These birds have a wing span of approximately 3 metres, they spend a great deal of their time soaring in the Andes looking for food. They can live up to 70 years in the wild environment of the Andes.
I doubt if the birds I saw could spread their wings or even flap them whilst in their cages, I would certainly love to be proved wrong.
I saw a number of other birds which I felt should be in much larger cages!
The actual park was great and worth a visit, just to walk round the lake and enjoy facilities on offer is time well spent.
However the general care of the animals was disappointing.

Today was our first time at Tilgate Park
We had a wander and ended up at the “Walled Garden Community Cafe”
It’s a stunning centre and lots of outdoor tables, all with huge umbrellas.
The service was fantastic and the food came out quickly.
We all went for the sausage, mash and peas which was as good as any I’ve had it supposedly “gourmet” pubs!!
Price very reasonable, the meals we had were £8.95. Drinks also excellent value.
A huge menu to choose from and a fab kids menu. I’ve photographed the menu and put it here.
We are going back next week to hire a pedalo on the lake then lunch again the cafe.
I highly recommend going online to look at what is on offer here, especially with the kids holidays coming up.

We visited with our grandson who will be 2 in September to see the animals in the nature park. Tilgate park itself is enormous with lots to see and do. The lakes are huge. The children’s play park is great. Lots of places for food and drinks and lots of picnic spots.
Reasonable parking prices - £3.60 for 3 hours. Get there early during school holidays or weekends.
The nature park was lovely. Lots of different animals. Reasonably priced entry, just £8 per adult. Great gift shop, also reasonably priced which makes a nice change.
Very helpful, friendly staff.
Highly recommended for all ages.
Planning to come back later in the summer for a picnic. You could very easily spend a whole day there.

We went to Tilgate Park last weekend with my family. It's a lovely, well maintained park close to the bustling centre of Crawley. A particular highlight is the Nature Park. Lots of animals in really spacious enclosures that did a good job of simulating a natural environment. Very impressed how the keepers hid food so the animals had to hunt for it. One particular keeper, Jasmine, was really brilliant at interacting with the visitors around the Reindeer enclosure. She knew loads about them and presented her knowledge in an entertaining way. The children learned a lot. Would thoroughly recommend

Clean and nice atmosphere. There is always some events, you can sit by the lake or in the restaurant, have a drink or something to eat. Good for everybody, couples, friends, family, dogs. :))
People going there for a run or walk or just get out from busy work and relax. Thank you for all staff who keep it clean. 👍🏼

A great location, plenty of parking. Enjoyable activities available ranging from Go Ape to various Watersports (kayak, canoe, pedal boats). The adventure playground is also good with a range of options. A nice path to walk around the lake, which is well paved for cycling/scootering. Woodlands to also take young ones on a little hike or across different terrain. Unfortunately a lot of dog foul throughout the fields, which can make finding a good picnic spot a challenge. A number of restaurants on site albeit excessively priced. A good day out in the summer with plenty to keep one occupied.

We take our dog on a nice leisurely walk through the forest and round the lake every weekend. This is a beautiful park to walk through and very well maintained. Dogs must stay on lead. The paid for activities are very expensive, but that is everywhere nowadays, good luck trying to have the sorts of days out from 20 years ago. Still, the walk is nice.

There is always a warm welcome in the Walked Garden Cafe...today my friend chose a Cornish Pasty..she thought it was delicious and would certainly have another!! I have had their sausage rolls and they were so tasty..the chips and onion rings are always top notch too!!👍😀x Food is always served with a smile...x would totally recommend...

Great place. It would be alot nicer in the summer. I am planning to be back in the summer. I would definitely recommend this park.

Would agree with most of the comments. Not advisable to visit at public holiday times as extremely busy.
