I tried to find a place to leave a review for their other location, but only thing one comes up.
When I first heard that they had an Uxbridge location, I was very excited! Shortly after it first opened, I went multiple times with my partner and friends. The staff are lovely and the selection of games is smaller compared to other places, but for how close and intimate the location is, it isn't really a complaint. At £2 an hour per person, and the 4th hour being free, it is reasonably priced! If you come to play your own games, it's £1 an hour per person. The food is okay, nothing really feels like more than a light lunch, but the price feels a little high for the quality and portions you get. Drinks are fairly priced, and I love their milkshakes especially.
I think my love for D20 in Uxbridge started to waver after I started attending their D&D nights. I started attending at their 2nd night, and it was apparent that not much thought had gone into how it was going to be run. Usually you tell your players some base rules on making characters and behaviour, but it was apparent that this wasn't done. Some people had rolled characters with suspicious stats, while others used point buy or standard array. On top of this, my first session was with a player who was playing a character that was rather NSFW and the DM sadly wasn't experienced enough to know how to handle it. As I continued, I found that other players just didn't have an understanding of how to act at the table and how D&D is a team game rather than a one person show. I was okay with this, given that each evening was working out to be £6 plus any food or drink. However, I learnt that the cost had been out up to £9 per night. At that cost, I just felt like it was way too expensive for the experience. The nights were happening twice a month when I was attending, so it was going to jump from a minimum of £12 a month to £18. When I consider that there is another gaming store that I could travel a little out of the way to and play there, and the cost to be at the table and my travel is cheaper than even the £6 they originally charged, I cannot justify that cost for a mediocre D&D experience.
I'd like to give their Magic and Marvel Champion nights a try, as those seem better value and more organised. But as it stands, I feel that D20 Uxbridge is best as the little place you go with friends every now and then for a couple hours or so to try out some new board games more than anything else.

This is really good fun, very welcoming and comfortable environment. You can order drinks and food whilst having a go at some of the hundreds of games they have on the shelf. Everything is really reasonably priced and a great way to spend a few hours.

Great selection of games, nice choice of food and drink. Staff all very friendly. Very easy way to spend an afternoon with friends and see the time fly by.

Have been here twice and LOVED it, but I am writing this to say how amazing their customer service is. I wanted to buy a game for a friend who had seen it in D20 and fell in love with it, but the version I bought was in German, so I called the store on the off chance they sold the game in English. They didn’t, but I asked if I could pop in the next day to take a picture of their version’s English instructions to print. The gentleman I spoke to was very polite and said that would be fine, but also suggested I look online as that might be easier. This same gentleman then called me back 5 minutes later saying they had found the instructions in a PDF and could they email them to me - HOW HELPFUL! I was blown away by that level of customer service. Highly recommend based on this and my past experiences.

We visited with my 4 and 7 year old and we all loved it. The selection of games was incredible and it was great to try out a few from our own childhoods with them such as Buckaroo and Operation as well as discovering some new great games. It was a lovely way to spend the afternoon and as it’s air conditioned it was nice to escape the heat!

My partner and I were in the area for the Warner Bros Tour and we thought we'd pop in to D20 the night before for something to do.
The staff were very welcoming and always made sure that we were catered to and comfortable. There was a tall gentleman who helped us in the shop area.
Eli served us for most of the night and they were brilliant! They were polite, super friendly and were great with helping us with our food and drinks.
D20 has a really relaxing atmosphere and my partner and I felt very at home there. It was really nice to see that pronouns were respected, LGBTQ+ people were welcomed and the local community had pulled together to donate games/tables and create such a wonderful space.
There was a games menu which was very helpful for locating what we needed and there were so many games that we were spoilt for choice. They had a well stocked shop section full of board, RPG and card games. Prices were average for an independent game shop and it's always nice to support small businesses.
The food and milkshakes were also incredible and I really appreciate that there was a dairy free milkshake option for me. My partner and I wish that we had somewhere as great as D20 near us and we wanted to say thank you for such a great experience. If we're ever in the area again, we will definitely be returning!

Excellent cafe we had two very tired girls with us after a loooong day at HP World, this cafe is easy to find and less than 10 min straight road walk from Watford Station...food choices maybe a little limited for the kids but we improvised and they LOVED my mac and cheese...excellent value for money and the staff couldn't do enough for us...unfortunately we are up north so unlikely to be be call again but the 10 year old said its the best place shes ever been...thank you for finishing off an excellent day in such style xx

We went here with some friends and the selection of games were amazing. Though even though you're sat in front of them you aren't allowed to touch them, which we completely understand because of covid but I wish there was some sort of board game menu we could look through. How can you pick from a selection of 100s of games just by looking at the titles? We asked the waitress to recommend some and she did but with a really vague explanation and awkward behaviour :). The food and drink here is pretty basic for the price also. The concept and the games in this place are so so good just wish they had better explanations/descriptions of the games and better food and drink!! With those things added it could be awesome.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. For future reference, our board game directory can be found on our website, with games sorted alphabetically, by category and by number of players. A physical copy is also available at the cafe and a board game recommendation menu is displayed on the bar. The waitress who served you is our newest member of staff and this was her first shift back after months being on furlough. We will take your comments on board and remind her to utilise the board game recommendation menu in future. We will also consider adding our board game recommendations to future iterations of our menu, as we can appreciate it can be difficult to choose a game at the moment without being able to peruse the library.
In regards to food, we are currently operating a reduced menu due to reduced opening times and reduced staff. We have tried really hard to cater to a wide variety of dietary tastes and requirements, including burgers, pastas, burrito bowls, curries etc with veggie, vegan and gluten-free options. We are hopeful that in future when we are not operating during a pandemic the food options will increase to what it once was.
I am surprised to hear that you weren’t happy with the drink options, because we are extremely proud of our coffees, milkshakes, and local beers in particular. If there is something that you felt you wanted that we did not provide, or if you were unhappy with what you ordered, please let us know specifically so we can look into it and look into expanding our options.
Covid has definitely challenged the hospitality industry - safety for customers and staff has always been paramount to us so we hope that despite the cons that overall you felt safe and would be willing to visit us again, thank you for coming and supporting your local independent business!
