it is located behind the fire station. you will be experiencing everthing a fireman does. there is so many things related to the fire man's job. a good experience.

Open days are April 7th, May 5th, June 2nd, July 7th, August 4th and September 8th which is also the main fire station open day.

Slightly hidden away behind Watford Fire Station, the museum contains a brilliant collection of fire related exhibits, fire appliances, uniforms and photographs. The guys know their stuff and enthusiasm by the bucket load! Remember your camera as plenty to photo, although when I popped in I brought the thunder, lightening and heavy rain. It's free and a great place to spend a couple of hours then pop over the road to Watford Museum!!

This is only open once a month but well worth a visit.

We recently visited watford fire brigade museum when they hosted a fun day. It was great to get up close to vintage fire engines and see old photographs of fire fighters in action. The museum is small but holds lots of history from decades of fire fighters uniforms, helmets, hoses, fire buckets and information. We had a great time and learnt loads about the tough job our local fire fighters do. Well worth a vist.

my borther in law is fireman in hertfordshire and told us about this museum so we took a drive and checked it out, its small but very interesting, the family enjoyed seeing the old engines and hearing all about how fires used to be dealt with.

Not very big but packed with interesting information. Fascinating to see all the old equipment and learn the history.
I took my then three year old son who loves fire engines. He was so excited that he got to sit in one and wear the helmet!
The guys running it are friendly and very knowledgable. It's just a shame that it isn't open more often.

On older fire engines when they used electric bells, where they tuned to a certain note so they could tell them apart from a police car or ambulance, I.e.police, fire, ambulance had different tone to there bells.
I am asking this because I have a Land Rover series 1 fire engine from Cranfield airport with bells and have been told this but wondering if is right

The museum only opens one Saturday afternoon a month. Only summer months.
Their web site will say which Saturday.
